I picked this game up recently and it had all kinds of issues but after fixing it up it's a daily player. Love the game but not as much as my sing along but with that said I'll probably never sell it. Simple game with a ruleset that keeps it fun. Pick one up if you see one.

Not Ed Krynski's best work. Lacks the evil genius.

Simple rules yet so challenging. Can't stop playing. Should be top 25

Although this game is old. I tried to think of it how it was back in the day. To me it comes off as an excellent game but trying to pick off the four squares. I'm not into the semi psychedelic thing that they have going on but it's still very cool probably could have done something different around the theme. But overall a very wonderful pain and I'm glad that I own it. It's got great play ability although it seems simple in design it does catch you and hook you in. And to me that's the biggest factor that this game has to it is that it not only hooked you in but it keeps you playing for a while to try to master the four squares. Update: this is one of those games that really does draw you in and keep you there one of the great games that can do that. Kind of like bad cats or Ghostbusters 4 Solid State. There's only a handful of electromechanical games that can do this for both the average Joe and the seasoned Pinhead. This will not be leaving my collection

I recently got a $ Square that had been in storage for years. It had a bunch of playfield wear and a beat up cabinet. I wanted a player. This is a player. It is pure pinball fun. The little flippers are perfect. Completing the 4 targets is always a great goal with rewards in points and increased scoring. I love how you first have 4 targets to aim for and soon there is one pesky target to hit. All the targets continue to give points. Very rewarding and fun game. This is pure pinball joy.

A neat little game with a touch of psychedelica in the art. Its almost a marriage between the artwork of 2001 and the rules of Strange World--both great games in their own right. However, I do prefer the awkward layout Strange World versus the symmetrical one of 4 Square. This game has a few built-in scoring bonuses for completing the 1-2-3-4 or similar number sequences, so it goes beyond the bash-and-dash strategy of 2001's drop target bonanza. This is another great two-inch flipper game with a wide open gap between the flippers.

One of my favorites of that era.

Have played it numerous times at the Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas.

Nudge skills a definite plus on this one, has small flippers.

I like it due to the rewarding of accurate shots (free games on specials), multiple targets with plenty of space and nothing forcing you to rush.

Love this game. Played it as a kid at the local roller rink where I worked and played. Always trying to get that last 4 set of 4 lit, then hit the special lights over and over. Doesn't happen often, but like a jackpot when you do.

Another great playing wedgehead from Gottlieb. Simple playfield layout and easy to understand the rules.Light 1 thru 4 on playfield four times and SPECIAL is lit. Sounds easy to do but really isn't. Challenging game but once SPECIALS are lit it's a real fun player especially if you like the sound of the replay knocker getting whacked. Targets and rollovers everywhere with a nice pop bumper arrangement too.Backglass artwork is as 1960's as it gets with fantastic coloring throughout the entire game. Setting this game back legs a little higher than the normal will make it play fast and hard with plenty of action. The game must be shopped out or restored mechcanically correctly to evaluate or test the games playability.Played this game at my local candy store back in 1970 and have this game in my collection today, couldn't live without it.

I love this game. 2" flippers, lots to shoot for, fairly deep rule set for an em. Just fun to play. I never get tired of this game, they re themed this game ( sort of ) as Astro n the late 70's and it was a Turd. Get yourself a 4-Square it will never leave the collection

4 Square is a player that will sneak up on you and make you wonder if that incredible game you just scored was truly earned... or was it just pin-lucky?

The Pros:
Another deceptively simple layout with simple but rarely easy goals to accomplish. What do you expect? It's a game from Master K! Eeeety Beeety Fleeepers make sure that you make the most of every opportunity to get that ball where you want it to be. Hi-Tap it if you dare!

The Cons:
This game must be tuned or "dialed" just right for steepness, fresh rubbers and flipper strength to keep the balance of this game's rules and play where it should be.

The Takeaway:
This game gives as good as it gets. People complaining that this game is too easy have not set up this game as it should be. (pssst, try it steeper) If you can find a well loved copy of this deck. Play it. Now.

Fun, but easy game to get a replay on. I keep coming back to this game whether it is easy or not.
