I've got a Williams Zig Zag (1964) that doesn't have the score cards. I would sure appreciate it if you could take a few pics of the score cards on your machine.

I'm hoping I can ask Inkochito to make the cards for me... for a donation, of course.

Damn. I thought this was going to be an old school head thread.

Howdy! Just picked up a Zig Zag, anyone have the schematic or manual (mainly startup sequence) so I can try and get it started?

Great looking game this. Just passed on a bit of a rough one this week. May regret it.

Nice. I've got a wing ding that I'm refurbishing.
Clearcoated playfield in April and will finish
putting back together this winter. Beautiful backglass
And playfield on these.

You wouldnt happen to know where to get the head rear door would you? Missing mine, reverse wedge head version.

I'm still looking for the instruction cards for Zig Zag.
I've got the Point Score Adjustments card to add to the file.
Can anyone here send me some images?

Hope this helps. Only one card on left apron. Small card on right apron is for pricing.

Thanks for the card image.
The right side card is indeed an A.S.C. card (already available from my website).

I just picked up a Zig Zag. Question, is the motor supposed to keep running in the cabinet, even when the game isn’t being played? Everything seems to work perfect except for that.

Not usual operation
probably some switch stuck open or closed or a relay not actuating properly in
game to go into the game over mode or proceed forward in start up sequence.

First switch stack I always check is in the coin door.
then proceed from there to where schematic might recommend.

Thing I would like to know is where to get replacement balls (multi-color) for the game's
backbox feature.

Thanks
good info resource.
Not sure what size as my games (Wing Ding and Zig Zag)
are at Pacific Pinball Museum in Alameda CA currently,

They might be closer to 20mm or 0.75inch diameter, If I rememeber correctly

#21 1 year ago

I’ll be going through my game today and will try to get a measurement. I’m assuming they’re pretty light weight.

#22 1 year ago

Because I’m out of space, I’ll be selling my Zig Zag. Everything seems to be working. It just needs a cleaning and some rubbers, which I’ll do. What would be a good asking price?
Play field 6-7
Cabinet 5-6
Back glass 8

I also have a great looking Pro Football, which is super fun. I’d probably give it a 9 overall.

#23 1 year ago

I don’t have my calipers, but it looks like 7/8 and definitely lighter than a standard pinball. Just throw some gum balls in there.

Yeah
I think 7/8in is correct from when i had the game with balls in hand
last time I measured them a few years ago.
But probably anything between 0.75 to 1.0 inch would work,
(or maybe 20 to 25 mm)
if one would replace them all to match in size.
I think they are a phenolic plastic, not unlike the larger balls GTB used
in their games (ala 300, Super Soccer, MIBS etc.)

Does anybody else have this lovely pop bumper over the girls face or am I the lucky one?

What a horrible hack. Keeps you from shooting at the center kick out hole.

People who do that to games need an ass beating.

#27 1 year ago

If that’s a hack, someone went through a lot of trouble to prevent going up the middle. I wonder if it’s just an early edition.

image (resized).jpgimage (resized).jpg
#28 1 year ago

no its a hack.. think you'll find thats a gottlieb bracket even.

i had a raceway someone did it too as well. seems someone out there liked to do it to make games more lively.

#29 1 year ago

Wow, that's like a punch in the face. I might remove it and try a patch job. Yikes

#30 1 year ago

Well IMHO the artwork on that particular gals face on the PF
was non too pretty to begin with (fairly simplistic)
so whatever you do art wise will likely be an improvement.
<<And I also think this is NOT George Molentin, as claimed by ipdb>>

It’s removed, but that’s a big hole.

Hacked it with a Gottlieb bracket, and then even put a wrong era bumper cap on it. And they couldn't even be bothered with trying to center it on the playfield. That just ridiculous.

Double ass beating.

I needed a little brown for the skin color, but this is probably the final for now. No more pop bumper or hole.

In the club.
Need a plastic plunger armature for one of the score reels.
Also just bought 3/4” plastic balls. Not sure the exact size of balls, but 3/4 should work. Confirmed that 1” is too big.

I just got a zigzag, after rebuilding several of the mechs that were seized up in old oil the game is running great, with the exception that when I rack 9 balls in the backglass -hitting the center kickout never scores a replay.

Additionally I have one more question, when racking 9 balls and you hit the lit center kickout, it is suppose to score a replay. Are all the racked balls also empty and you get to shoot for 9 more?? Or they stay racked until game end?
