Hi,

I Am trying to fix a fault on my Zaccaria Supersonic. I hope there is someone that could give me some help.

There are ten lights on the playfield spelling SUPERSONIC, 9A on the Schematic. If any of these lights are on when the ball goes down the drain, when playing the last ball it does not end the game. The ball numbers go out and it shoots out another ball. When this ball goes down the drain it lights up GAME OVER and the game ends.

If there are no SUPERSONIC lights lit and the last ball goes down the drain TILT lights up for a second and goes out and then the GAME OVER lights up and the game ends.

The only other fault I can find is the anti slam switch on the coin door does not seem to activate the trip. It is normally closed. If I hold it open, any coins put in the slot do not give credit or start the game. If anti slam switch on the bottom of the cabinet is opened, the TILT lights up and the game ends.

I have attached the Schematic, it seems a little small. I can email you a better copy if necessary.

Are the "SUPERSONIC" spell-name lights actually the bonus count? If so, does the bonus actually count down to zero, and get added to the player score correctly each time the ball drains?

If "SUPERSONIC" is the bonus count, then it kind of sounds to me like there's some fault happening with the interaction of the bonus unit count-down and the triggering of the game over relay via the outhole relay.

My initial thought is that it has something to do with one of the wipers on the ball count unit, in particular the rivet and wiper shown at 8-D on the schematic (the lower one of the two with rivets marked 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 - 0). My thinking is that rivet 1 may not be making good contact, but this is just a guess.

If that isn't it, then some more details on the behavior of the fault might help to narrow down its possible source.

I own Ten Stars and the bouns on that game is collected when the last ball drains. I was having a similar issue which i tracked down to a burnt trace on the last ball position of the ball count unit. I guess im agreeing with TimMe..
