I see!
Keep on going!

Congratulations!
It's an authentic Italian pinball, still with Italian "lire" coin receiver.

Harvs gave me the Lire he found in the coin mechs when he got it. Very cool!
20190923_053744 (resized).jpgthat's a piece of collection.
We do not have "lira" anymore in Italy, since 2002 we have "Euro"
That coin correspond to 1/4 of Euro which means a bit more than 1/4 of USD
Ok.....
Anybody have a coin switch they are willing to part with? One of mine is dead, and I actually (weirdly) try to make sure all my coin doors are in good order.

I have a bunch of those as well. Those cannot be easy to make. Very cool looking coins.
it's jus a standard microswitch. Just the big version. Just buy one with a straight wire and bend it to look like that.
Mexico 86 has joined my quest to have a complete set of Gen 2 zaccarias. Only 1 more left to go. And it's not super rare either, which makes the quest a lot easier. I've ran across ops that had 3 of them sitting in the warehouse at a time before I became a full on zac collector. (Blackbelt is the only 1 left). Mexico 86 is rare here in the states. I've found lots of them in Southern europe but nobody was willing to ship. In the US, mexico 86 is ultra rare, in europe it's just rare. About the rarity of Robot.
Zacs have 5 levels of rarity. Similar to magic cards.
Common
Uncommon
Rare
Ultra rare
Legendary Rare
yes, a rare game collector out in CA had it and sold it as a package deal with a bunch of other stuff. Troy Smith found it for me when trying to get the stuff he wanted.
New Zaccaria addict that just had my first taste here and purchased a Magic Castle. I am super impressed with so many of the details that they thought of including the trough/shooter lane, the metal bracket on the back of the playfield, the retention clip in the backbox etc. I'm impressed.
I have a question/issue. The left outlane that feeds the left flipper on my machine is not what was originally on the machine. Mine is thin, poorly formed, out of spec, and does not function as it should. It has been hacked up and rebent so many times in an effort to make the ball feed correctly that it appears it is garbage bound. It never feeds to the flipper as designed, and I need one. That is an issue, I know.
Does anyone know of someone who could fabricate one as it was? I don't trust my metal fabrication skills and would prefer to leave it to someone who knows what they are doing. I suppose the other option is to try to track down a used one. If anyone here has or knows of one somewhere that I could buy, I would be extremely grateful.
Looking forward to being involved in the club!

PM me, and email me a pic of the part. Can't think of what you are describing right now. I probably have one I can sell you.
It's not often I sell a zac, but now that mexico 86 showed up, I need room for Blackbelt, so i'm forced to let one of them go. Put my Universe up for sale. Realized i'll never have the room to get a full set of zacs (38 different games total). I need to just keep focus on Gen 2's and my 1 gen 1.

Very very clean example of universe. mint backglass, near mint playfield.
Farfalla apron cards just hit:

should add those to the Zaccaria apron cards thread as well. Would get a lot of action on there as well.
Time to restore my farfalla.
It's pretty rough.
I started it today after it sat for a few years.
It boots! But no neon.
Loud hum in speakers.
Everything is a bit corroded.
Playfield starting to plank. Will need clearcoaring I think.
See if you can get it running before worrying about the playfield.

Will do.
I'll work on it a bit on Friday and saturday.
Start doing a cleaning and checklist/checkup.
Game was playing fine before is sat a bit. Lol
Played Robot at expo and enjoyed it immensely (thank you for bringing it Brenna). If anyone ever thinks of selling one please let me know.
Poking around my farfalla today.
It's really in desperate need of cleaning throughout.
Years of cigarettes and neglect!
So that's where I will start lol

Lockdown reciever and coindoor are really corroded.
Electronics are crispy and filthy.
Quoted from CaptainNeo:david gersic can make you ribbon cables you need. Zaccaria-pinball.com
I was just going to ask that!
Cleaned and inspected the power supply board.
I found 2 blown fuses.
F1 and f5
Replaced fuses and installed 4 screws with star washers, now the game boots.
Also the neon is now working!
Evidently all of the screws are missing and all of the boards are held on the old cracking nylon posts.
Someone in the past was afraid of the ground plane it seems.
So I have good audio and a booting, functioning game with neon!
Not bad for a couple hours today.
Pinballinreno, take some close up pics of all the connectors, many have extra uncovered header pins and sometimes there are no keying plugs in the plastic connector housings. Plugging in one pin off can cause some issues you don't want.
You also might want to think about losing that battery, NVRAM is plug and play on this board I believe, no soldering.
Have fun, a great machine.

I did see bent over clear plastic pins that once worked lol
Are replacement pins available?
It would be good to replace these if I can.
I'm being careful about plug locations, pics etc.
About the battery:
I absolutely want to replace/remove it.
Is there a kit or thread on this?
Can you point me in a direction?
Well, my intermittent sound board on my devil riders has gone dead on me finally. I just get a clicking / buzzing noise. Previously it was intermittently booting, but would go weeks without a problem. Now it just don't go at all.
May just send the board to Dave this time. I have too much going on right now to spend the time diagnosing it.

Quoted from pinballinreno:I was just going to ask that!
Put my long ribbon in the sonic cleaner for 20 mins.
Its clean now, tar stained, but not sticky any more.
Its ok for now.
Quoted from pinballinreno:I am shopping the game a bit as the rubber is dried up.
Has someone glued my bumper caps on?
I cant get them off easily.
[quoted image][quoted image]
Does anyone have covers for these bumpers? Are they even available lol?
Yikes.. Yeah it looks like someone epoxied your pop bumpers closed. No there are no replacements. You're going to have to try to find someone who's parted one out.

I'm hoping I can exacto them off and restore them maybe?
Lol
I'm really excited about this game!
I think I'm going to clearcoat the playfield for longevity.
It'll play like a rocket when done lol.
Anyone have some farfalla bumper caps, please let me know!
Also my coindoor and lockdown reciever is super corroded.
If you have anything to contribute font hesitate to contact me!
Not necessary. The clear coat on the Zaccaria games is super durable. Clean it up and you’ll see

"plastic pins"? Really? Can you publish a close up pic?
I had to use an Exacto to get my pop caps off my Thunder Man.
Battery: just clip off the wire tie and the leads on both ends of the battery close to the ends of the battery. I've seen boards that had the original battery with no alkaline leakage that had been sitting around for a while. But when you start playing the machine or working on it, the battery starts to leak like a congressional hearing. Remove now.
Correction: Because Farfalla is a Gen. 2 MPU, there is no NVRAM available. Sorry.
The easiest way (I think) is to install a remote battery holder. Google: remote battery holder MPU pinball

I have 2 playfields.
The clear is gone on the one currently in the game. Its super dull after cleaning.
I'll try a little light buffing and some wax.
There is wood graining appearing all over.
A couple cracks are also apperaing.
A lot of inserts are cracked.
The second one is in pretty good shape.
The clear is very thin and wearing out.
Wood graining is appearing in some areas with some splitting of the surface.
It will need clearcoar to preserve what's there.
Can i get replacement inserts?
I can probably harvest inserts from one playfield to the other
They look very fragile, I can see ruining them if pulled out.
clear cannot be gone. Just scuffed up from balls with dings on them. it's there and can be buffed back to mirror shine. it it was in high humidity environments, and had graining throughout, then you will probably want to swap.

Yep.
All of the massive corrosion throughout indicates a high humidity environment.
The worse of the 2 playfields has a lot more graining evident.
I'm shopping it out to get it 100% running before the rebuild.
I want to see it play and run some led tests ss well as go through and check all the mechs in PF 1.
The better of the 2 playfields has very slight grain showing and very little wear. The mechs look really in good shape!
I'll put a coat of clear on it and replace inserts, to preserve it, before the swap.
if you already have it apart, it's a good idea. I do it to mine when I have them completely stripped down.
