I would find a Black Hole.... obviously for a grand it would likely be non-working or a rough players. But that's the game I'd go for.
Quoted from frunch:Any chance you're planning on going to the Allentown show in May? I imagine $1k could get you something fun.
We're planning on it! But nothing nailed down yet. We're also planning on going to the Ohio Show next month. Do you need to buy Ohio Show tickets ahead of time?
With $1000,
You purchase my project Six Million Dollar Man Pinball for $400 I have for sale
and use the other $600 to repair it and booze.
Located in Mesquite, Texas.
Near perfect backglass.
No acid damage on MPU.
I see two smoked transistors on Solenoid Driver Board, otherwise boards look clean and repairable.
Cabinet rough with some sort of metal supports installed on both sides? Why no idea.
Playfield worn.
Quoted from spikelou2:I would buy a players condition space shuttle ..just a great game ..picked the up for 1000 and put some tlc into it ..
I'd be all over a Space Shuttle. Looks like a great game!

Awesome, Pinfest is definitely worth the trip! In fact, take a look at the Pinfest 2018 Buy/Sell/Trade thread, plenty of good deals to be had! https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/pinfest-2018-buy-sell-trade
Herk, if that was a Gottlieb Hot Shots for $900. Check it out! Seriously underrated game, it's a lot of fun. Tons of drops, flowing ramps and loops, and multiball. Some people don't care for the carnival theme but once you get past that, the game is a player.

It's a little bit of a trip to get, but it looks pretty good. Especially for the asking price. I think if it's still there this weekend I'm going to make the trip.

Do it up, buddy! Good luck
Quoted from zr11990:Not a whitewater, a Gottlieb Waterworld. I have a hard time believing those are over $1000.
My first game was a waterworld at 1k in 2012 and they sell for almost 1500 now. Great game
Just a couple things to note about Hot Shots. I owned one for awhile and it is a fun game! Make sure the acceleration wheels are working. You can get new rollers from pinball resource. The upper ramp can get banged up, usually patched. Do the ground mods to the power supply case in the cabinet and to the boards, it'll be a rock solid machine.
Just did the same mods to a Spring Break, hasn't had a single hiccup.
I actually likes the idea of a Street Fighter. Was almost going to be my first pin, but got a Comet instead.
Sweet Fighter's fun. I played it all the time when it was new. . I keep looking for a decent example but most have been played to death.
Congrats!
You should find a Paragon, they typically sell used for around your budget! Wide body early SS Bally goodness! Try the search all craigslist ap here... http://www.searchcraigslist.org/
Quoted from Herk:I ended up saving up and getting a beautiful SF2 for $1600. It was the one pin I’d been hoping to end up with some day but didn’t think it would happen for a few years.
SF2 is a great game on the cheap $$$$ side. Congrats on your new purchase. Also the Gottlieb system 3's are pretty reliable I've brought 5 system 3 games back from the dead and once setup and running never really had an issue with them.
Quoted from ImNotNorm:Nice! I like the simple topper
Thanks! I make decals and I make toppers for all of my pins!
