I’m not even a golfer, but Caddy Shack is my all time favorite comedy. Like many guys that were teenagers in the 80s, I’ve probably seen it more than 100 times and can quote every line.

Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Spaceballs - Most Mel Brooks movies

#5 4 years ago

As mentioned by a few already, anything by Mel Brooks is wonderful.
Also, Anything staring Leslie Nielsen is hilarious.
My all time favourite comedy would be Monty Pythons quest for the holy grail. One that I find amazing but seems to get little love, is Wrongfully Accused, staring Leslie Nielsen.

Pinside.

Has plenty of laughs with the benefits of a Documentary, Drama, Horror, and Action on the side.

I'll watch the occasional Seinfeld when it is on, wife is a fan of his "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee."

George Carlin stand-up

Holy Grail, Meaning of Life and Life of Brian...all so cleverly funny

^ Love Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars getting Coffee...couldn't wait to see Eddie Murphy this season.

My kid has been asking about watching comedies for a while now, and we catch one or two every once in a while, but no way in hell am I putting on Caddyshack or Blazing Saddles yet, and he’s 10, so he won’t get most of the humor in Airplane or Holy Grail.

Home Alone is a huge hit. I’m considering putting on Billy Madison (although there’s some cringey parts I don’t particularly want to have to explain) or Ace Ventura ... but the ending!

Can’t hardly think of any others

The Big Lebowski.

If your 10 year old son happens to like soccer, Kicking and Screaming with Will Ferrel, Robert Duval, and Mike Ditka is pretty darn funny and entertaining for the entire family.

Like when they head to the mailbox to snag the weekly pornography shipment? Don’t worry, as a modern 10 year old he's probably never even read a magazine!

I vividly remember my mom taking me to see Police Academy in the theater when I was 10, and having to explain the podium scene to me after. lol. Plus all the rest of that movie. No way in hell would I want to go through that with my own 10 year old!

Idiocracy is #1 for me by a good margin

Honorable mention for the seldom talked about "Out Cold" also.

Wow, no love for History of the World Part I?

Gregory Hines was brilliant in that movie. Not that Brooks, Kahn, etc weren't.

This is my favorite Mel Brooks...beats blazing saddles even!

Clerks. Rented the VHS many times through college. Seen it probably 100s of times since, and it's my usual pinball repair background noise. Still makes me laugh every single time. I also have a soft spot for Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and to a lesser extent the rest of Kevin Smith's stuff, but Clerks is #1 by far.

I can just see you trying to argue that 10 is a good age to introduce the concept of granny porn!
