After I get a world cup soccer 94 for myself this christmas, I've been told I will likely want to buy MORE and MORE pins. Here are three games. They all have slightly varying depths of rules, but none of them are too shallow, but none of them could ever be called "deep". I'll list off some facts about each to help with decision making and you guys can give your voice on which is best and why.
First we have Black Knight 2000:
It has seven major shots, a motorized drop target bank, six standard drop targets, magna save, and kickback. It has comparatively deep rules for it's time, with 16 different "random awards," two ball and three ball multi ball, and the "King's Ransom" wizard mode. The art looks great has the colours are warm and inviting. The music is kick ass, maybe after half a year the music would get annoying, I don't know, it's possible.
Next we have Earthshaker:
It has seven major shots, an animated "Fault" diverter where Nevada and California spilt to lock a ball, a captive ball, 3 drop targets, a spiral skill shot, various ramps, a challenging scoop shot, a cleverly placed kick-out hole and a light up building that indicates which shots to shoot. It has shallower rules as it does not have a mini-wizard mode, however that is all it lacks, it features 10 different "random awards", and it has 2 ball and 3 ball multi ball. The art is superb, really colourful, fun and inviting. The music is excellent and would never ever get annoying, and the voice quotes are also fantastic.
Finally we have The Getaway HSII:
This game is a bit newer as it features a DMD as opposed to alphanumeric display. It features only five major shots (six if you count the lower entry to the bumpers), however lack of shots aside, the game does feature the supercharger ramp, a ball locking ramp and a gear shifter instead of a plunger. The game also has a traffic light that indicates when locks are ready. This game features a bit deeper rules, including 14 "random awards," 5 "redline awards," 2 ball and 3 ball multi ball, a video mode, and the fifth redline award is a mini-wizard mode. The art is good, not spectacular though, the music is good, and the voices are good too.
Opinions? Advice? What would be the best choice for my second machine?
