Now that summer is here, what are you doing instead of pinball?

My #2 is fishing. I can always shoot a pin game or two when the weather is foul.

#2 4 years ago

GOLF, Lake, Beer, in no particular order

Summer time is convertible time!

(drinking) beer makes all hobbies better! However, if you MAKE beer as a hobby, then by all means include it as your second!

#5 4 years ago

I do brew my own beer but don’t have fancy equipment so I will probably pick it back up when the weather cools. Also play hockey. Sold my super jet last summer because I wasn’t riding it much. Should of bought a MMr, haha.

Drove around in a 26' Studebaker convertible...now I kinda want to ditch the coinop hobby and get an antique vehicle....Well I've wanted one for decades, but the biggest thing is I'd lose my garage spot, as I know the wife wouldn't give up her's..

I enjoy taking the FJ40 (restoration project from a couple years ago) to the occasional car show and I also try to get one or two trips out West in. Pic is from last year's family guys trip -- you'll have to guess which one is me (Hint: not the person in the car!)

As a piano tuner, business is lighter in the summer, and I have more time to work on pins. Summer temperatures also allow me to use the garage for seal-coating backglasses and cabinet spray painting, which won’t work in winter. So I guess I’m in the minority, but pinball is an even bigger hobby for me in summer. Am I the only one???

We love boating, traveling with our camper, baseball, fishing, flying and season passes to our local amusement park. We still hang out and play the pins, usually while watching baseball in our bar.

#13 4 years ago

Gun Club...shoot..then we drink beer...summer time we drink more beer. (we may not even take the guns out of the case).

Wow. I never thought of that. You might not be the only one, but certainly not the majority!. Summer is also the best time to lay a set of wrinkled plnball plastics between two sheets if playfield glass. Over the course of a day in the sun your plastics will become nice and flat.

That's exactly what I did last fall. A 1930 Ford Phaeton Model A now resides in the spot I used to park my truck in, but it's well worth it.

Nice looking Willy Mike. Is it Gilmore's your going to?
John

#25 4 years ago

I'm not sure if either of them are hobbies, but two of my favorite things are casually tossing a frisbee and cliff jumping into a lake or river. Nothing crazy for the cliff jumping (10-25 feet is enough).

Thanks, I'm really happy to have found the car....it was pure luck that we met again after 30 years....

I don't know if it's a hobby per se, but screwing around with these two outside mainly. That and patio beer and bourbon. Is that a hobby?

I live in Florida, so pinball is the summer indoor hobby. I try and do my outdoor activities in the winter and I try not to even go outside from May to October.

Mountain biking, camping, hiking, drinking beer, making beer, shooting guns and reloading ammo. Very little pinball time at the moment, but that will change once the first heat wave hits.

If I had one. It would be lying on a chaise lounge at a beach, back propped up. A tropical drink in a coconut with a paper umbrella and a bendy straw. Watching sharks get the swimmers. One an hour would be nice. And a Horga'hn on a table next to me.

Cruising lakeshore on the lowrider, keepin’ an eye out for smokey in the TA.
Patio beer drinkin’ and concerts when I can get a sitter.

I love golf as well. (I am a golf pro at a club in northern California)

Edit: just noticed Aces are being mentioned. I have 2. The best of the 2 was at Bandon Trails in Bandon, Oregon.

I’m really big into community theater. Currently a lead in a local show.

I have a feeling this might be unique.
