Has anyone ever successfully added a third ball to road kings? Looks like this would be a modification that everyone would want. It just feels like it should have haD 3 ball multi ball all along

I agree, and I did, by a lot of programming with a P-ROC and a P-ROC to system11 board. It would be nice if the original had that from the start, but I you'd need to change the original software to install a 3th ball. The software needs to see the extra switch, needs to give a 3th ball when 2 are locked, etc. It would be great if someone could do that, but as far as I know, nobody has started to change the orignal roms to do so.

Is there still a source for the P-ROC to system 11 board?

You could ask Mark who made a full power driver board with conversion (he's on pinside, user snux)
Can I have a sampling of owners verify what ROM revision you are running, please?
Thanks, in advance.
If anyone would be willing to send me an accurate outline drawing or let me borrow their diverter metal piece for a day or two for copying, I will get them made en masse for the community.
Anyone have a spare Detour drop target decal I could buy? I don't wanna pay $5 shipping for a decal that could be put in an envelope for 50 cents and no one offers that shipping option. Yes, I know, I'm cheap, but that's how we build our collections on a budget.
Thanks.

Quoted from Eric96:Looking for help on the right ramp lift solenoid is not lifting the ramp and I'm having a hard time figuring out what to do. Can anyone help this is for road kings. And my n in kings won't light
Does that specific coil fire in test mode?
Also, be specific: is it firing, but can't lift ramp because the metal hinge parts on the side of it are bound up?
Quoted from Eric96:And my n in kings won't light
If its just the N light only thats not lighting with a new bulb, could be a bad socket or bad/loose diode or solder connection
Quoted from Sinistarrett:If its just the N light only thats not lighting with a new bulb, could be a bad socket or bad/loose diode or solder connection
Or the N-target itself, unless it also won't light when shooting the ramp or center target enough: won't the N insert light when the N is hit, or never at all?
My right ramp entry switch is not registering and I can't find a replacement part for sale. Has anyone else dealt with this issue?

You talking the first switch located on the right side of the ramp? I get issues w that one too. I just rebent the arm a little and seems to be fine.
Is it registering in test mode at all? Even when pressed in a little more w finger?

Yeah it was that one but I tracked down a loose wire under the playfield and got it back in working order. What about the switch under the ramp? I get that one to register in switch test but it's not reliable in game play. I don't think the ball always hits it with enough force to push it high enough to register. I was thinking maybe bending it in the middle a bit?

I’d bend it a little. Use a switch adjuster tool if ya got one.
Guys what leds did you use for gi in pf?
I usually like cool white to light things up good but maybe sunlights here, to keep that incandescent look a little?
Mid shop. Ordered parts and both new ramps from Ramp o matic. Thanks JodyG
I’ll post pics later installed.
Also did touch up and mylar over the wear spots. Came out decently.

All done.
Installed Ramp o Matics gorgeous clear ramps. Easy to swap switches. No soldering or riveting. Both fit great and honestly, they make the game look SO much clearer and crisp.
Better light in the back cause of the clear ramp now. The pf looks more even.
Tell me how sick that pf looks!!
Did comet sunlights for gi. Like em. Some leds here and there. Love this pin.

It really changes the pf. Looks amazing and so so much better.

Good price on a killer pin. Simple but an amazing shooter. Clear ramp on back turns the aesthetics into a masterpiece!
Glwts!

Get new ramps for it. Check out how my RK came out with new ramps (clear one in back) a few posts up. TOTALLY makes this thing looks ridiculously cooler.
Hi Everyone. Just brought home a new to me Road Kings a few months again and just getting to it, lots of stuff going on at home. So everything seems to be playing well. I'm not getting the back box #63 bulbs to flash during the game or in diags. I assume that one or more of the cement resistors on one of those under playfield boards is bad. If I'm on the correct path does anyone know how to test those things and which one of those boards controls the back box flashers?
Any help would be greatly appreciated from the road warriors!

There should be a resistor board on the backbox light panel. That one likely controls those flashers. You could also have a transistor or wiring issue. You test those resistors with the ohm setting and make sure they read correctly. Pinwiki should help identify the proper values. I never recall off hand.

Thanks for such a quick response. Geez, got so caught up under the playfield I didn't even think to look behind the backbox.
Hello everyone! Just grabbed a Road Kings, and am having a real hard time finding the left side Y Ramp holding bracket (see image for part needed) - No idea how the current bracket I have ended up broken, but does anyone have a valid part #? The manual only lists the right side bracket part # (01-8370), but can't even find that part at Marco, or anywhere else - The ramp is in real good shape, and not that I need a new ramp, but all the ramps I see for sale do not include any hardware. Any help would be greatly appreciated - Thanks in advance! Oh, and so far, this game is addicting....

You could likely make one from some aluminum stock or something similar.

Probably would need a vise or something to hold it for bends.

I believe you have the correct bracket. The only other part is on the inside of the left ramp...metal piece that the ball slams into protecting the end of the ramp.

Ahhh, sorry misunderstood, thought that was a picture of your baby. The previous comment is probably your best option. More than willing to take pictures and measure it all out if you want to make one.
Need some advice warriors. My pop bumpers really could use a little fine tuning, need good force from the ball to make them engage. I tried to adjust the bottom bumper leaf switch and I either got it to close or the wafer stuck and almost melted the coil from being stuck on.
So, question. What is the best way to adjust those leaf blades...in the machine (very hard to tell the gap, first attempt) or out of the machine???
Appreciate any advise on the topic.

SOLVED - The left side Y Ramp Holding bracket is part of the left side ball guide. That's why the manual does not show any particular part number for such left side bracket... I was able to find a a replacement ball guide (amongst other parts I grabbed for spares) from REM Pinball. My other option is to use JB Weld to re-attach the two pieces together together...

OMG, good on you. I took a look for you back when you asked and I didn't use a flashlight...looked like it's own piece, what do you know it is part of the left ball guide. Note to self: put on your glasses and get more light LOL.
Need some help…. The detour switch is pulling error code…figured I would just put in a new one. Something doesn’t look right to me…should there be a big glob of solder on the top part with no wiring attached? does anyone have a pic of what their switch looks like?

Compared to mine it looks like you’re missing an N4001 diode.
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:I appreciate you sharing. The only switches I have on hand are these….would it work or do I need to order some special switch to replace it? I don’t have any loose diodes…

I don't want to lead you down the wrong path when it comes to swapping components. I do see in the picture you do have a diode on your switches. If it's comparable to the N4001 you could just take it and solder it on. If you do try using your diode, make sure to have the silver banded end on the open lug of your switch...compare it to my picture. Hopefully someone with better electrical skills will chime in. The local radio shack had diodes in stock. Soldered it in, and working like a charm! Thanks for the pic and tips.
Here she is, all cleaned, waxed, shopped out with comet sunlight LEDs

I’m on the fence to get the clear ramp set …
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:Does anyone know the paint codes for the cabinet artwork?
Mine definitely needs a new paint job, but I can’t find any stencils. I’m very tempted to do the decals.
