A dad and his son came out to the golf course earlier this week. The first thing out of his son's mouth was "mister, will you turn on the pinball machine for me please?" After picking myself up off of the floor because someone called me 'mister,' I turned on the game for him. It had 15 or 20 credits on it, which didn't take him long to burn through, although somehow he completed B-A-L-L-Y on his first ball. Unfortunately I didn't have anything for him to stand on. I've since found a stool for him, so I'll be ready next time.

His dad told me later that they enjoyed their time playing pinball almost as much as they enjoyed their time playing golf. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, his son is 4-years-old. It put a smile on my face.

Quoted from o-din:

Young and old, seems a classic single level Bally has more appeal than a Gopher DMD.

Two problems with the Gophers. One, there's a switch that isn't working and I haven't had time to mess with it. Which has lead to two, there's a big pile of golf clubs in front of it.

But, that doesn't take away from the appeal of the Bally. There's some tough shots on that machine, plus it will get a little snarky with me from time to time.
