I worked at a gas station in 1970-1971 pumping gas, washing windshield, checking the engine oil. We were one of three gas stations on a small intersection. Our price was 36.9 cents. Across the street the other stations were a penny less. I could never understand why anyone would stop at our gas station when it was a penny less across the street.
