Based on up votes,Hedy Lamarr is Vintage Hottie Of October. Not Don Knots.

    #2202 3 months ago

You know your old when you flirt with a not so bad looking senior ...In front of the senior home. She's really nice and I walk my dog that way. She loves dogs.

    Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

I think Martha Stewart should pose in playboy. She's hot
Vintage hottie of November? Does she even qualify?

    Yikes!

I took my annual trip to Yellowstone this year with some friends.
While I enjoy my hikes and getting out into the wilderness I'm noticing my range is starting to decrease.
Sleeping in the tent is tough on my back. . . but the views are still worth it.

Hedy Lamarr was also an inventor; she co-invented an early version of frequency-hopping spread spectrum, which subsequently led to early versions of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

When $2.00 candy bars are nothing but outrageous in price.

When 2.50 for a glass of iced tea make you decide to just have water with your food; Same for soda. If you are the type who eats out 3 times a day, 7 days a week and tally up $2.50 daily beverage (coffee-tea) for 3 meals x 2.50= $7.50 daily or $52.50 a week for iced tea. Put it to the year and you are talking $2,730 per year for iced tea if you eat in restaurants daily. That's a couple of pinball machines. You know you are getting older when you start looking at this kind stuff.

Young people have no reference point and think $2.00 for a Snicker is an OK deal. I suppose my dad thought when Coco-Cola went from 5 cents a bottle to 10 cents a bottle that is was thievery.

So time keeps passing on. And someday a $3.00 candy bar will sound just as good as a 5 cent candy bar sounds today.

When you are thinking terms of what you can do to figure out ways to eat cheaper at home. " I got this and this and this one sale. And now I'm eating for a dollar a meal.

When you realize today's newspaper headline is the same trash as last century's headlines; Only the names have changed. So, your first column in the morning is the obituaries. You are looking to see who, or if any of your old high school mates made the page.

When you start wondering who will the last one standing.

When you look back and marvel at some of the insane ways you pissed away your money as you were going through life.

    #2221 3 months ago
    Quoted from cottonm4:

    Yeah, this.

But I probably would NOT do it differently.
When you get old, many times those old memories will carry you thru a tough time.
Sometimes, one of those old memories is triggered and I laugh out loud. Yeah, I am that guy.

Oh, and do not forget Sophia Loren.
I liked her and Raquel Welch.

Went to a Megadeth concert a few years back, when we got there, there was a big long snaking line waiting to get in. It was taking forever because they were completely checking out every single person, I’m talking inspecting every single bag, making them empty pockets, practically frisking everyone before they could go in. We get to the door, and they don’t even look at us twice, just waved us right on in without so much as a glance. Still get a laugh out of that.

I get 5 weeks paid vacation starting this year. I think it is the company's way to politely tell me it is time to consider retiring.

Yes, when you are old enough to realize trying to relive your youth is just a pointless, embarrassing, venture.

Were you in a band when you were young too?

I don't call that reliving youth anyway as bands are always breaking up and being formed again.

I asked my kid to put on headphones while listening to music. Not sure if that makes me a little bit hip or not.

Now that I used the word hip that way, I know that I am old.

When you can understand what is going on it this picture and remember the year that it happened.

Oh yes, you remember what a VW Bug is/was. There are 6 Bugs in this pic.

Points if you can I.D. all of the cars. Back when the car makers actually put their name on the cars we drove; And did not leave you guessing what just drove by with some pretzel looking logo that you are supposed to try and figure out.

I'll go with the white 1960 Pontiac Bonneville all the way in the back row. 4th from the right.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Back when cars were cars and self-destructed one month after the 36th car payment

Oh yeah, back when auto loans were for 36 months only. Who ever thought of an animal like a 48 month car loan?

Back when car seller owners, who were buried in monthly payments, were placing ads like this: 1969 Chevelle, SS, 454, For sale. Take over payments.

Any of this jogging anyone's memory?
