Wayne Shorter will be missed... his wife died in 1996 on TWA Flight 800, on her way to visit him on tour in Europe... also he and his wife provided Tina Turner a place to live when she left Ike
Quoted from DanMarino:I only recognized 2 of the musicians.
And I’m turning 55 this year.

I am not going to play Rock Trivia with you !
I saw David Lindley with Wally Ingram on percussion at Fitzgerald's in Chicago maybe 20 years ago. He was a master of any instrument with strings and put on a great show. Very entertaining and funny. Bummer to to be losing all of these great people.

"If there's a rock 'n' roll heaven...
You know they got a helluva band..."
Quoted from jhanley:My wife said she would still need me and feed me since I turned 64 today.
Have you lost all your hair

I caught a show on that tour and it was excellent! David Lindley doesn’t get the love that he deserves.
I didn’t know that he recently passed.
Before "Broadway Joe", there was "Pepi". First player to bring a blow dryer into a baseball clubhouse.
He was quite the character. A fan favorite.

Like you Jr. of great character and a Pinside favourite!
You know you're old when you put a deposit down on a CGC game, and then wonder if you'll still be alive before it starts shipping.
You know you're old when you throw your back out from playing a game of "come here and pull my finger" with your grandkids.

Don't buy green bananas
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:Like you Jr. of great character and a Pinside favourite!
You're too kind!
Quoted from DanMarino:You know you are old when you watched Larry Bird and Nolan Ryan play live games.
And Dan Marino.
I saw Mickey Mantle play live.
I've even seen Joe DiMaggio play too, but admittedly, it was on Old Timers' Day.
I know that I’m not as old as some of you here, but u remember when Hagler, Hearns, Leonard, and a young M. Tyson ruled the boxing circuit-way before ufc

Uh.....I saw Def Leppard when the drummer had both his arms.
Does that count?

Some of us remember Ali v Frazier in 1971 on the radio.
Closed circuit existed, but home pay-per-view hadn't been invented yet.

Sure do remember that.

Met Smokin Joe before that while in grade school at the Harley dealership next to my high school.
I remember watching the 69 Mets play in the World Series during school. Our Teacher(who happened to be a Nun) was a big Mets fan.
I watched Cal Ripken Senior play baseball and later manage in Rochester before he "graduated" away from us up to Baltimore. Cal Jr. might have been a ball boy at some of those games.
Quoted from jhanley:I saw Willie Mays play with the Giants in 1968. My favorite baseball player
I might've been at that game.
Dick Dietz was catching, Gaylord Perry was pitching. Barry Bonds was a couple of grades younger and we went to the same elementary school in San Carlos when his dad was on the team.
