I had to get organized with my pin collection and finally got the collection on a detailed spreadsheet. Got me to wondering how many pins everyone added to their collection last year. It was a slow first half for me (nothing purchased), the all hell broke out in July and I made up for lost time. My New Years resolution is to scale back a bit.

before this year, I had never owned a pinball machine . in about july I went looking for fish tales to tidy up , as I used to stop and play one in a shop half way to Melbourne . couldn't find one . I went home with no fear . not bad , but I thought i'd get bored quick .next week I had star trek the next generation and the adams family . all good but nothing to do to them , they working fine . two weeks later I have dr dude , mousin' around , both needing FULL resto , a demolition man and johnny mnemonic , both needing work all at once . a month later , secret service joined the resto line up .creature from the black lagoon , hook (just too good to leave there I had to take it home) and Indiana jones the pinball adventure also joined the stable . then twilight zone .FISH TALES TURNS UP END OF JANUARY!!!!

That actually describes my situation perfectly, even including July. I ended up finally building myself a souped-up budget calculator spreadsheet when I realized how much money I was spending on pins.

In 2018 I bought four games (Road Show, Rollergames, BK2K, and Police Force) and finally got around to selling my F-14 Tomcat to a local connection. Combined with nearly finishing my homebrew, I basically doubled my collection.

Don't remember how many, but everyone should believe in the adage that "Desire drives Stupidity", and not just involving pinball machines!

    #36 5 years ago

Where do you even find 30, 60, or 100 games in a year? I cannot imagine getting all those games shopped out and working well. It seems like most used games need a decent amount of work - bulbs, rings, cleaning, new parts, etc. I just got two games last year (TZ and FT) and spent months working on them. Still working on FT but that one did need a lot of work.

Yes I agree, bringing home a beautiful Corvette today as a matter of fact.

    #38 5 years ago

I bought 5 KISS LE, IDMN PRE, AFMLE, DPLE, and LOTR

    Out XMENLE and Family Guy

I think I might be set for a while. Maybe one move in 2019 and the rest vids to continue to diversify the game room.

    2018 pin movement:

    +4
