Sounds like you guys are trying to cover every aspect. If we want Pintastic to be successful and held every year in our own backyard everyone that attends should consider themselves an "honorary staff member" and stay vigilant for any shenanigans. (Did I really use the word shenanigans!?)

Maybe you can ask Allan if he'd like to do a short lecture/seminar on Pinball Repair 101 for us newbies to the hobby!

I agree with the Doctor. A trophy should be reward enough to show that people appreciate their work. Increasing the entry fee will discourage the novice restorer from entering, prohibiting them from showing their work, knowing they cannot compete with some of the veterans. Lets keep this fun and stress free or else it will be the same 2-3 veterans winning year after year.

Update looks great! I was just thinking. How about adding a page where we can post pics of the places that the posters were hung? That way we can inform the business that their location will be posted on the Pintastic site showing the poster and promoting their business at the same time.

    Quoted from LTG:

I don't need a picture of a poster up here.

Just to clarify. I meant a page on the Pintastic website.

One of the best clam chowders can be found at Legal Seafoods. There's even one at the airport if you're flying in.

    Quoted from dannunz:

We are thinking of bringing in a awsome classic rock cover band for Saturday night just after the show ends. It would be free for show attendees. Paid for by our great sponsors. Any thought?

    John Trudeau?

Congrats! Glad I was able to get in before the cut-off!

Congrats Daniel! Even though I didn't win I don't feel slighted in the least knowing that the money went to a great cause!

As of now I am just announcing Jack but I am told he is working on a special guest.

Pat, Pat, Pat, Pat, Pat ...!

    Quoted from LTG:

While exciting. I don't think so, because he'll be questioned to death about what pin he's designing.

I agree ... just wishful thinking. Still too soon to be seen in public with Hobbit and all. I understand he's been in the witness protection program with no means of communication with the outside world. Not even Jack knows where he's at!

If I can manage to bring a single Game is there one everyone would like to see in my collection other then ACDC and Transformers?

Hmm. Never played a Twister before.

    Quoted from Kineticross:

I do a lot better in tournaments when I know the exact tables that are going to be used.

Don't tell him! I do a lot better in tournaments when others don't know which tables are being used!

Good luck guys ... and thank you! We've all seen pics of Gabe from many an interview but what does Derek look like? Can we get a pic of the two of them together so we know who to walk up to and shake their hands?

    #903 8 years ago

Gabe/Derek - I just realized that since I'll be there a day early in my own vehicle I'll also be able to stay for the break-down and clean-up on Sun while my wife and friends go home in their own cars, so sign me up!

    Quoted from LTG:

That place is going to explode when things start rolling in there.

LOL! That poor hotel doesn't know what they're in for! I just hope they let us come back next year!

    #953 8 years ago
    Quoted from Jared:

3:20amCST... Loaded... Waking up in 2 hours, lol. So excited!

Plan on taking any pictures? Don't forget to get your clam chowda at Legal Sea Foods at Logan when you land.

    #964 8 years ago

    Get some chowda!

    #998 8 years ago

Hey Craig, isn't your avatar from Oxford?

    #1128 8 years ago

Let's keep these post alive for the entire year! The more people hear how great the show was the more inclined they will be to attend, as well as more vendors and speakers knocking on the door to be apart of it. The only thing I could have hoped for were to have more Pinsiders wearing their avatar in the form of a name tag or a badge in order to put a face to the name. I had people come up to me just to look at my badge to see who I was.

    #1132 8 years ago
    Quoted from dannunz:

Mid June or late July early August? What will work better?

Just make sure you pick a day when it's raining so they will be forced to come inside to play pinball rather than go to the beach!

    #1150 8 years ago
    Quoted from dannunz:

Volunteering is awsome you get right in there with me and Derek. In the thick of things. All access.

Gabe makes it sound like unicorns and ice cream! Don't believe a word he says, he's a slave driver! But seriously, my biggest regret is that I couldn't offer more of my services. I volunteered for 8 hours on Thursday for setup, 4 hours on Fri morning until the rest of my party arrived, then another several hours Sat night wrapping things up. Not only do you get to spend quality time with Gabe and Derek but with the vendors and speakers as well. I helped Andrew setup Full Throttle, John with his BBB, and Gerry with Lexy. Talk about front row action! The after party for vendors, staff, and hotel guest was the icing on the cake with free-food, great company, and unlimited game play without the crowds. It's starting to sound like old hat but the sincerity is still there ... thank you Gabe and Derek for doing what others had always hoped and dreamed but not brave enough to tackle. Pintastic is now "On The Map"!!!

    Are those ear plugs?

Sorry, didn't scroll far enough down to see your last line.

    Quoted from OLDPINGUY:

Nice Write up, Mike! Thank you!

+1! Almost makes me feel as if I were there! Great meeting you Mike and I look forward to working with you again next year!

Quoted from OLDPINGUY:Had a blast! needed much more time!

Art, sorry I missed you at the show and that I didn't take you up on your offer to stop by your place during my brief visit to The Pinball Lounge. Next year I'll find you by following the sounds of laughter!
