    ...What do you keep?

I was thinking about this last night.

While I'm sure this thread has been done before, it got me to thinking what of my current collection would make the cut.

    Here are mine;

    1) Starship Troopers
    2) Batman Forever
    3) Johnny Mnemonic
    4) Revenge From Mars
    5) Judge Dredd.

What would be your 20% keepers?

    #2 10 years ago

not gonna happen, so I prefer not to even think about it.

    #3 10 years ago

I would end up with a fifth of a BSD

    #4 10 years ago

    Pinbot and Roadshow

I need more pins in my total collection so 20% would be bigger.

    #5 10 years ago

I'll have to do 25%, sorry.

    At present:
    1) AC/DC Premium
    2) LotR

    #6 10 years ago

It's bad enough that I've had to sell Radical! this weekend without thinking about the other 17! Plus point is that I'm replacing it with my old F14 Tomcat,

    #7 10 years ago

    AFM and Tron

10th pin in collection is a hyperpin on steroids of course.

    #8 10 years ago

I think it would be more interesting to see which pins people would cut if they had to reduce by 20%. I only say that as it would be an easy decision for me (cut BOP, keep MB,SS,SM,TOM,WOZ).

    #9 10 years ago

Oh,don't ask that! lol I cant part with any. very happy where I'm at.

20% of your collection is to keep 4.

    #10 10 years ago

First I'd have to buy about 20 more games, then cutting it down to 20% wouldn't be quite as difficult.

    #11 10 years ago

A consider this often and the truth is the one I'd cut seems to change week by week. I guess when that day comes it will be pretty much a spin of the wheel, whichever is on my Sh-list that particular week.

    #12 10 years ago

    Tz afm fh ij.

    #13 10 years ago

I did, and Corvette is what stayed...well cut it to 25%

    #14 10 years ago

    I tried...
    Can't do it

    I can keep 4...

The first 2 are easy...AFM, Wolverines. Then I get lost

Please don't make me play this again

    #15 10 years ago

Assuming you have owned each of them long enough to enjoy them, I would just let the market decide. Offer them all for sale and stop selling when enough are gone.

    #16 10 years ago

Well wonderful, if we are rounding down, that leaves me with none!

    #17 10 years ago

Hmm, lemme think. Current collection is:

AFM, BK2K, BSD, EBD, FP, Hyperball, JP, JD, MM, MB, NGG, RS, SM, ST, STTNG, Tron, TZ and 20% would be three games.

Well the MM was the one pin I kept when I cut down from 20 some in 2001 to just one, so it would still stay.

Twilight Zone is a definite keeper, so it's #2.

The third one would be hard. The wife's favorite is Monster Bash so it would probably get the spot but my third favorite is a close race between BK2K, BSD and Tron.

    #18 10 years ago

MY gut instinct going from 10 to 2 would be keep IM and LoTR...
The Third would be Star Trek, then Paragon, then WPT. WPT is my newest game so I would play the heck out of it prior to selling, but that is my gut feeling right now.

The rest of my games are VERY nice to have, but if I had to downsize say my Firepower 2 would be leaving much sooner than my WPT, even if both are fun when I play them.

    #20 10 years ago

    Afm
    Spider-Man
    Sttng
    Shadow
    Avengers
    Tron
Video pinball cabinet because of pinball fx2
    TOTAN

    #21 10 years ago

I'd have to round and then do a 25% cut. This game isn't too easy for anyone with less than 10 pins haha. I'd keep WW and DW.

    #22 10 years ago

CFTBL My wife would kill me if I sold that one.

    #23 10 years ago

1 pin? oh no.. . what sort of poor decisions have led me to this point..

    AC/DC Premium

    #24 10 years ago

    Sopranos
    SM
    JB

    #25 10 years ago

under that scenario, gonna have to sell:
1973 Gottlieb Hot Shot (no brainer - already for sale)
    & ToM or GnR...

    Keepers -
    TAF
    TZ
    POTC
    AC/DC prem

What 80% of my collection are you after, tamoore?

All of the good ones. You can keep Big Hurt and Gladiators...

That leaves me with less than one whole machine!

But if I get to keep one it would be STTNG.......but you already knew that.

If I got to keep half of my collection it would be STTNG & JM.

Good choices on your keepers BTW.....I agree.

    #29 10 years ago

I think we're at a point where I may have to take Time pilot off your hands.

    #30 10 years ago

Actually If I only got to keep half of my collection it would really end being STTNG & WCS.

The family would kill me if I got rid of WCS. (And I would pout about JM).

    #31 10 years ago

    Keep...
    AVLE
    STTNG
    Cyclone
    WCS

    Bye bye...
    Batman Forever

    #32 10 years ago

I am pretty full at three. Can't imagine having fewer than that. Now I look at a machine I want and have to decide if it is worthy of replacing any of the games I have. Whatever I do find will have to beat out Black Knight. It is #3 right now.

    #33 10 years ago

It would be tough. If I had to go down to one, it would be Avengers. If two (33%), I would add ST:TNG. Hopefully the scenario never happens as I would miss the others so much it would probably just be easier to go down to none and get out of the hobby altogether.

    Start replacing furniture.

    #35 10 years ago

Since only 4 of the 8 listed are 'mine' at my house, I guess that means that I get to keep 1. I always said that I'd never get rid of my JP, but for as little money as I've got in my Spiderman, I'd probably have to keep it since I'd never be able to buy it back at the going rate.

My mom has said before that out of her TAF, Flintstones, and PM, that the last one to leave would be Pinball Magic.

I have a big ass pool table that is taking up WAY too much space. Although right now it is holding my JM playfield.

    Part with:
    1. Sky Jump
    2. Revenge from Mars
    3. Sopranos (but still have to become the boss)
    4. White Water
    5. Road Show
    6. Safe Cracker
    7. Twilight Zone
    8. Attack from Mars
    9. Cirqus Voltaire
    10. Lord of the Rings
    11. Monster Bash

    Keep:
    1. Medieval Madness
    2. Cactus Canyon Continued
    3. Big Bang Bar

After the first three, it would be very hard to let anything go. I've had most of my collection for quite a while and except for the least favorite three, it is comprised of my holy grail dream games.

What if the three you keep you can never sell or trade.....would that change your choices?

    #39 10 years ago

keep afm and totan , xmen will go to my grandson and woz to my grand daughter some day so don't have to consider those two.

    #40 10 years ago
    Quoted from Astropin:

Good question. I still think that I would keep MM and CCC because they are the most fun and still are challenging to get through the whole game. CC would not have been on the list, but due to Eric's fantastic new code, there are a lot more things to do in the game. I would probably take BBB off the list even though it would be damn near impossible to replace. It is a lot of fun and wild when you get to the end, but it's not that challenging. Either Lord of the Rings or Monster Bash would replace it. Value of the games is not a consideration.

    #41 10 years ago

I would first add 10 system 11 cheap games solely so i could reduce my collection to TOTAN and TOM

    #42 10 years ago

    Jim Morrison said it:

"Five to one, baby, one in five. No one here gets out alive."
I agree: death before an 80% reduction!

But, I'll still play since I just happen to have five, which reduces to exactly one. I would have to keep my ST:TNG both because it's such a fun and challenging game and because of the bond I established with it during the year it took to bring it back from the brink into perfect playing condition.

    #43 10 years ago

    Your list is 25%... 5 of 20 is 25%.

    Here's the 4.5 machines I would keep.

    High Speed
    Space Shuttle
    Fireball
    Tron
The playfield out of my Elektra

    #44 10 years ago

This thread is prejudiced against people with fewer than 5 machines.

I barely have enough furniture to seat everyone now. Me, Wife, 6 kids and 2 dogs. Maybe I can get rid of a few kids?

    #46 10 years ago

    Keep:

    Indiana Jones (Wms)
    Tron LE
    Spider-Man
    Big Bang Bar
    Tales of the Arabian Nights
    Medieval Madness
    Theatre of Magic
    X-Men (LE)
    Jurassic Park
    Monster Bash
    Lord of the Rings
    Simpsons Pinball Party

    Teach them to stand.

    #48 10 years ago

Out of my seven...SM, FGY, IM, JP, RS, FS, JM...I would keep SM. If two I'd keep IM. Luckily I can keep them all though!

I am trying to imagine where someone would put 83 pins! Oh, well. In my much simpler case, I'd probably hold onto IJ and STTNG.
