Thought the show was pretty good both days. had a nice variety of games and as always. I stocked up on a couple dozen locks, leds, levelers and a few other parts from vendors and flee sellers. Also finally got a Bally Playboy backglass for a reasonable price. My Lucky Seven pin played great with no issues the whole time. Ended up trading it for the (players condition) Bobby Orr that was there. Always wanted one. It will need some work but I already have most the parts.

No problem. I seen ya go by a couple times when I was playing a game. Played you FB classic a few times also.
Allentown is the next stop. Man wish someone did a show in late November.

Those guys are great friends who took time off of work and time away from their families to come and help me BIG TIME. Definitely one of those scenarios where you think you could do it all by yourself and you have people who are supporting you who know better and they just roll up their sleeves and jump in with you. Definitely couldn't have done it without you guys! For those who don't know, that's Jigglymartian in the center and dkeruza on the right. Great friends and true assets to the Hobby.

Anyone have anything negative to say about the "new" bigger building? If Rich would need to push the entrance price to $20 to continue in that new building do you see any issue with him raising the price of entrance for the first time in years? Allentown and most other shows are $20 (or more) and everything else has gone up in price so a slight increase in price to keep that bigger building doesn't seem like a bad idea in my eyes. What does everyone else think?

Knowing Rich and after talking to him at some length I know a price increase isn't something he wants to do. He feels as though the York area will not be willing to accept the increase. But times are changing and I think Rich needs to do what ever it will take to continue to grow the York Show. Am I in the minority or majority with my thoughts?

Maybe even a November Show in the smaller side of Allentown Building? I was talking to Ivan about running out of room at the Spring Show - maybe a second smaller show just before the Holidays would be the answer for continued growth in the Allentown area. If I could ever get this family BS behind me I would love to have more local shows to set up at.

Why Not? If I was in your shoes I would reach out to Force-Flow to see what he learned about starting a new show since he just did that this year. I am sure Gabe, Rich & Ivan would all share ideas also but dates might be tough depending on what you are thinking. Late Winter early Spring might work but that time of year is always very risky with weather and November would also be a thought.

Allentown is typically right around May 1st, Pintastic is early July and York is normally the end of Sept so I don't think another show between May and October makes a lot of sense. But squeezing a smaller show in on one of the off months might work out OK. Also you are likely far enough from Pintastic that a July Show might also be an idea?

In my eyes a few smaller shows between the established major shows makes a lot of sense. It would be kind of cool to see a show every month or two within driving distance. Looking back to my days in the model railroad hobby I do miss the monthly shows.

Exactly! I was also thinking that too. A show in the annex portion of the agriplex with just 100 or so pins and a small indoor vendor/flea market section would be perfect for that time of year. We're only a month to 1.5 months from when it would be so hopefully he takes this into consideration. I'd definitely bring games and get a booth.

I highly doubt he could "pull it off" for this year - things just typically don't move that fast. Force Flow managed to put a show together in just a few weeks and I am still amazed he managed to do that with all it takes to get a show off the ground. As long as my family stuff didn't mess things up I would be in for a flea market space or two even this year. I am still upset I didn't make it to the York Show to set up this weekend but thankfully Rich sold the spaces out so I don't feel quite as bad.

Need a winter show nov - feb

The ONE issue I had, and heard other attendees complain about, was the lighting. It was nice and bright inside the building, yes. But that also meant strong glare off the games, unfortunately.

However, that is literally the only bad thing I thought and heard about.

I felt the place was very clean. Rest rooms included! That's a big plus. And a vender commented to me that his games were not collecting dust /dirt on them like others shows. kudos the show and staff!

I'm so glad I saw this. I played the other Flash and it was like every other Flash I've played so I didn't even look twice at JT's until towards the end of the show Saturday. I have to admit, I never knew Flash could play like that before. The 5150 thing just made it all the funnier to me.

A mid-winter or very early spring show would be great but weather is so very risky that time of year. If a promoter rents a hall somewhere the place renting the hall doesn't care if weather kills your event - they still want to get paid. So a winter show is like a crap shoot and comes at very high risk for a promoter. That is a risk most people just wouldn't want to take and I can't blame them but a winter show would be great for sure!

Lets not get to far off topic here - lets talk more about the hall at the York Show this year and what everyone thought of it?

Incorrectimundo. Ivan did do a small show at Merchant's Square in the fall, before Pinfest at the fairgrounds. It was a very good show as I remember. I bought a Williams "Lucky Ace" there out of the flea market.

Many thanks to the Marquettes and all who helped with the show. It was a great time, and I liked the new building. Plenty of room, even behind the games. That's really handy when you have to access the backbox for service. Thanks to everyone who brought games too.
Not a bad idea getting other non-pinball vendors there as well to help with the cost.

No, as jr said Brian did the merchants square show before moving it to the fairgrounds. Ivan did one there in 2009 and 2010 in the fall.

I don't think Todd was there, was he? I was there all weekend and didn't see him once.

Better than I remembered. Like the animations and call outs. Only got one game on it so I don't have a deep opinion but I would really like to see the production model.

Wilmington would be a good spot that is centrally located and still in Delaware.

Being in the middle of I95 corridor will draw from north of ny all the way to va.

I didn't say anything except that Ivan definitely did a fall show at Merchant's Square. That was after the Pinball Wizards Convention (by the Heins) was already established at the fairgrounds location.

I just finished organizing and directing the first tournament in DE and I also have to find 2 more dates before 12/31 so Delaware can qualify for the IFPA state championship series. Although, that just triggered an idea, maybe one of the events is a "show" and a tournament in one!

I hate to say it but I also agree I was not enjoying aliens as much as I loved dialed in and total nuclear annihilation!

Played it at Allentown and then again yesterday... Full Throttle brings me back game after game because of the flow and the shots. Alien, as amazing as it looks and sounds, doesn't have much of either. It might all click into place after a couple dozen games but FT had me hooked by this point.

Todd said he couldn't make it this year but a friend of his took a video in his place.

Interesting feedback. I just bought a dialed in - game is unbelievable but I did play Alien for some time in Buffalo and had a great time too. Both play a little different but bring diff strengths to the table (although now that I own DI, the effects and music really do a good job - they're just not as tight as Alien which might have the best package all together).

I really liked that flip up ramp shot on the right of alien...

Congrats to mike for best of show with his sample tz. Also peoples choice went to junk yard ...also a very nice example.

Video was good shot high at times could tell the comments were from a younger guy who didn't have the EM eye. But thanks for the video nice job .

Hi Everyone! I wanted to share the results of the IFPA Tournament.

Thanks to Jay Robinson, Brian Service, Brandon Service, Joe Miller, Michael Reimer, and Pete Tsipouras for helping with the event setup/breakdown, and to Jay, Brian, Brandon, and Chad Hastings for letting us use their games in the Finals bank.

We had 46 players in a Match-Play tournament where each person got to play seven qualifying rounds with machines at the show.

A Finals - Congrats to John Moran for winning the event! Eight people played in a PAPA-Style Finals on Conquest 200, Gaucho, Fireball II, Future Spa, and Dirty Harry. Corey Hulse was 2nd, Jose Chong was 3rd, and James Hudson was 4th.

B-Finals - Congrats to JT Harrison for finishing 1st! Eight people played in a double-elimination bracket with games on the floor. Howard Dobson was 2nd, and Robbie Orsino was 3rd.

C-Finals - Congrats to Randy Ross for finishing 1st! Eight people played in a double-elimination bracket with games on the floor. Michael Reimer was 2nd, and John Bowes was 3rd.

We hope everyone had a good time during the event! Results are submitted to IFPA and should be reflected online in a few days.

I have to diasgree with you that IGT "remade" any Bally bingos.

Keep in mind William "Si" Redd ran Bally Distributing of Nevada for several years. Besides just distributing Slots and Bingos to route operators and casinos, They also operated a Slot and Bingo route.

When Bally did not see a future on the video poker machines that Si had some of his employees "skunkworked" and presented to Bally management, Si and Bally parted ways. Si formed Sircoma which soon became IGT. They too started a route and had lots of Bally Slots & Bingos besides their own Video slots and Video Poker machines.

You probably have a machine that was new and destined for their route and never made it out of the shop or, It has been restored and looks NIB. I'm guessing it has an IGT manufacturer's tag which really is being used as an asset tag on the Bally machine. I personally have two Bally EM slots (an 809 and an 873) that both have IGT asset tags on the cabinet.

IGT had no capability to make the Bally stepper mechs and relays etc. I could be wrong though.....

Well, that was me repeating something I had heard from other folks that fix machines. I've certainly been wrong before.

What MrBally says makes perfect sense. It also jives with what someone else told me later on... I'll fill Danny in.

@otaku, always good to have another new bingo guy! Seems there are more and more popping up. Remember, that head is a team lift item. Remember to put the power cable between the head and the cabinet. That's why I suggested a minimum of three people. (two can hold in place and tilt forward while one fishes out the cable). Color match Jones Plugs, though typically you can't put them all in wrong. Only load 5 balls 1 1/8" in that game for proper operation.

The beautiful and rare Ice Frolics with the near-mint backglass got snapped up for the asking price. That was a beautiful example.

I'll PM you, that Dixieland was incredibly clean inside, but will need a couple of tweaks to run and score reliably. I did a couple of fixes on the show floor and got it to score properly on regular wins, but the game had been modified for single coin lights all six cards. I'll send you something in the next couple days (just got home).

Yep! I ended up trading it after most people had already packed up and left. Mine was one of the last games to come down and a fellow reached out to me and we worked up a trade on the spot. Fantastic timing, haha.
