That's scary. Good thing you caught it in time.

So do all the boards have this problem? wtatumjr says it is a common problem. Seems pretty serious if the game and set on fire. Should there not be some type of service bulletin regarding this?
Quoted from Crash:For reference...
Old: 15-0015-00,REV3 11/5/2013
New: 15-0015-00,REV2 3/10/2015
That's quite a large time span. Here's another case that happened just 3 months ago.

Does anyone have a scan or photo of pages D142 and D143 of the print manual? I would like to know what is causing this and what to look for if you have a REV3 Unified Power Source Board.
Why did they make the new board Rev2 when the old was rev3?
Quoted from herg:I opened my game today, and sure enough it has the smaller inductor. At this point, it doesn't show signs of high heat.

Here's another picture 20 minutes after turning the game on, still in attract.

That's 127C! Since we don't know the part number of the installed inductor, I don't the what is rated for, but the bigger one I linked to earlier is rated for 105C max.
If mine is rated at 105C and yours is running at 127C, that is a big concern to me. I wonder what yours is rated?
Quoted from wtatumjr:There's not been a single house burned down yet so that's overreacting. The incidence of board failure is pretty low so I can't see JJP replacing everyone's. Anyone that has dealt with JJP's service department knows they are top notch - they go beyond their way to help you. If it wasn't for Frank and Lloyd I wouldn't have considered a Hobbit but I ended up ordering one despite my WOZ problems. Let's not grab our torches and march to Frankenstein's castle just yet. I'd just play my WOZ until there's a problem - any problem. Then mention you heard about board problem and see what they can do for you. The $350 is a core charge and you get that back.
If your house does burn down do you think they will replace that?
Quoted from herg:The new board I received has the inductor with a double winding.

Much cooler temps after swapping the boards.

Inductor - 67C
Q21 - 60C
Q20 - 54C
I'm wondering if I need to replace mine. My friend lent me a thermo tester which I was going to test out tonight.
