Sent my serial number and board pic to jjp. My build date is Nov 18 2013.

I was told my board is one of the good ones even though it looks like it has the inductor that fried in previous posts. Perhaps something else is contributing to the problem...

I was inspired by herg's use of the infrared thermometer so I went and purchased one to test my game (I've been looking for an excuse).

You can see the inductor is at 127C after being in attract mode for about 10 minutes. The emissivity of the thermometer is set to 0.95. You can also see the targeting lasers are centered on the inductor.

127C seems high to me (that's 260F). I wonder if my board was mistakenly given the OK in the rush of these tickets from fellow insiders. I purchased a spare to have it and noticed the new board has a much larger inductor.

I think I will swap the new board and ask Frank to double check. I did not send my pics and serial number to Frank, i gave that info to one of the other guys when I purchased the spare power board. Am I being overly concerned? I am having an arcade night with some friends and don't want any surprises.

Quoted from DCFAN:

Maybe you could cook some hot dogs on that coil for your arcade night.

No kidding. When I got this thermometer, my first test subject was a cast iron skillet I was using to cook sausages; the surface temp was about the same.
