    Quoted from rotordave:

Remember a week back I said that the Joystick light switch thing was one of the cooler things I’ve seen?
Well, Pinsider Carrie and husband jawa have very kindly offered me their spare one for Xmas!
What a awesome gesture, and it’s really appreciated.
And that’s why Pinside is great.
I’ll be installing it in my gamesroom and kiwi pinballers can feel the awesomeness of my joystick!
    rd

Is that upside down? Will it be installed the other way up down under?

    Quoted from rotordave:

I’ve yet to see how it works ... so doubt some twiddling will be required as USA light switches are upside down to everywhere else in the world (up for on, down for off ....)
    rd

    There's an installation video:

I think you're right, I don't think those screw holes would line up with any of the light switches in my house.

    Quoted from dmacy:

BTW, I’ve had mine 5+ years and only recently changed batteries and has worked great. Best $1 I ever spent at Thinkgeek!

$1? There's people flogging them for $75 USD on ebay: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Power-Up-Arcade-Light-Switch/263365177931

    Quoted from cleland:

But you continue to show me places I have not found.......practically in my own backyard.

This often seems to be the case, that a visitor can see things a local might miss, often because it's always been there so locals have never stopped to look at it or perhaps it's always on the "we should do that some day" list.

On a related tangent, one of our local artists created empty picture frames beside the road that make people stop and look at what they are driving past. eg.
    26055718_10159715162255612_865792265720139183_n (resized).jpg26055718_10159715162255612_865792265720139183_n (resized).jpg

Again, many of the locals never see them, but the tourists often do, possibly in part because a lot of the communication about them is via tourist aimed channels like https://visithorsham.com.au/things-to-do/framing-the-wimmera/

    Quoted from AlexF:

Here in Wisconsin, around October when it get's below 40º people bring out the sweatshirts and light jackets. When it get's back up to 40º in February or March they bring out the Harley's. It's funny what feels warm once you get used to the cold.

It was 110 in the shade here yesterday, then the 60 overnight felt almost chilly.

    Quoted from rotordave:

For our Australian friends ... imagine my surprise last night when former Aussie cricket star Mike Whitney was sitting at the bar in Palm Springs!
Amazing who you see on your travels .....

    Cricket? No. Who Dares Wins!

That switch says 120v only and NZ is 240v, right?
