Then I’ll have to do another one. Maybe later in the year.

LOL! That's my sister's Chevy HHR
Quoted from MrBally:While we wait for Rotordave, here's 91 year old "MaBally" on PCH today....
What part of pch is that?
Quoted from rotordave:Rewired it,
What does it take, to get it to work in N.Z.? Different transformer? Additional transformer?
Quoted from Darcy:What does it take, to get it to work in N.Z.? Different transformer? Additional transformer?
Williams pins, just changing the plug (I always install a brand new line cord and plug) and changing the wiring on the 9 pin plug down by the transformers. And changing the line fuse down to 4 amp, and changing the varistor for a 230v one.
In the 70s, Bally and Williams pins (well, 99% of them) are international. The one transformer does all voltages, you just need to change the wiring.
Occasionally I have had a 70s Bally EM that has had a 110v only transformer, in which case you have to install a 230 to 110v stepdown inside.
Gottlieb 70s/80s games are hit and miss. I’ve had 110v and 230/110v transformers.

Thanks go out to Crazy CaryCarmichael from Monterey ...
He had some more beer for me to try, so he posted it all the way to New Zealand!
Crazyyyyy!!
Hard case how the box says “made in New Zealand” !!
The box has gone all the way to Monterey, and all the way back! It’s done like 20,000 miles!
Haven’t tried the beer yet, but it certainly looks cool.
Thanks buddy!

Like most craft beers these days , the label looks better than the taste?
I hope it tastes as it looks.

Yeah, some craft beer can be style over substance, for sure.
The last ones he gave me were good though! So I’m looking forward to trying them out.

Quoted from PaulCoff:Try to make the Golden State pinball festival this year. I try to always have good sudz on hand. Glad you like brews and pinball. Monterey has been crankin out some good cans of juice. Your stoked.
There’s a great pin ... and some great beers!

We'll be seeing ya at GSPF PaulCoff and we'll be packed to the gills with the stuff! We are really big fans of the Alvarado crew, good beers just down the street from where we pinball here in Monterey County.

Make sure to have a friend or few sit to that Metal Clothes with you - it's got a solid ABV. Or don't, but please be aware I cannot take responsibility for your pinball skills after downing that can.

I was looking around my office, which is the Hobart here in Salinas, for a box to fit the 4 pack, nothing I had was working out to be the right size. Then I see this row of boxed bowls for our 12 quart mixer in my parts department, all the way in the back at the tippy top - Perfect size! I get it down and start taping it up to realize it was made in New Zealand. Right then I knew my decision to send beers to RD was a Crazy Good Decision.
Enjoy!

Indeed it was! And appreciated.

I don’t drink when I’m playing ... bad bad move!
I’m saving your beers for this Sunday night ... when Pincade is over, 130 people have left my house, the chaos has subsided, and I can finally sit down and slam a few beers!

Alvarado is doing it right (kinda pricey), but I'm not a big fan of all these sneaky NE style IPAs in the craft beer industry.
I'm more of a West Coast IPA drinker, but Alvarado made an NE that I definitely keep an eye out for.
"I'd Floccs Wid It"
see you guys at GSPF

Beer review!
Saturday night, after a hard day of pinball work, I cracked open the first of Carys beers.
“Metal Clothes” - described as a Bourbon barrel aged Belgian quad.

Boy oh boy, rocket fuel! It was 15%!! You could definitely smell and taste the bourbon. It sorta tasted like bourbon, mixed with cough syrup! I gotta admit, it was a little tough going for a lightweight like me. I kept half of it and shared it around Pincaders on Sunday. The reactions were priceless.
Next up was “No Doy” - American pale lager.

This one was good! Slight fruity taste, 6 or 6.5%, not too strong, very drinkable. Would drink again!
Two more to test - I’ll do so this weekend.
Thanks again to CaryCarmichael for sending the brews!

Beer Review!
On a hot Saturday afternoon, watching my favourite team, the Mighty Vodddaphone Warriors crush the Gold Coast Titans, what better time to try another of Carys beers?

This one is Hopres Ski Double IPA. Quite the wanky name.
Coming in at a heavy 8%, the first sip is quite strong, quite hoppy. But then the fruit flavours come through and it is quite pleasant drinking. Compared to last weeks 15% debacle, this is like drinking low alcohol beer.
Very pleasant. Would drink again.

Quoted from ajfclark:That switch says 120v only and NZ is 240v, right?
Yeah ... also 15A and it’s only powering 1x 12v LED bulb so I think she’ll be alright.
If not ... hey, my insurance is paid up
