Picked this Abra up yesterday. Unbelievable condition. Don’t think this one has ever been on route. machine probably the nicest EM I have ever found. Picks of Playfields to follow. Head even has shipping block installed for backglass

Sweet! Now get it together and see how she plays.

    What's the story behind it?

Love threads like this congrats. Lets see full pics.

Craigslist find. Seller started out a couple weeks ago at 2500.00. I offered 500.00 cash sight unseen. Next week they came down to 1200 then 1000. Saturday shot them my offer again they countered with 800 I held my offer at 500 because I hadn’t seen the machine yet. They accepted and wanted it gone yesterday because they are moving. I went there with low expectations but was really surprised when I saw it. Handed over the cash and took it away. It was also set up and works 100%. Making room in the game room today for it. I asked where they got it and they said it’s been in the family since new. I haven’t even looked inside cabinet yet. Has the original Gottlieb envelope with it with original schematics. Very Lucky.

    Wow, what a nice deal!

    #10 6 years ago

    nice score

I wont lie I'm kind of jealous

    #11 6 years ago

Be still my heart! That machine is so beautiful it almost should be posted in the basement forum! Wow, congrats!

    #12 6 years ago

Sounds like the deal I got on Volley. May I ask what the play counter reads?

    #13 6 years ago

    Wow, look at that thing!

    Wow!

I saw the ad at $2500 and chuckled, because no EM to me is worth that (even if it's one of the more desirable titles). But for $500, what a find!!!

As a fellow Litchfield resident, congrats!

    #15 6 years ago

And post some photos of the playfield if you get a chance.

    #16 6 years ago

Better than the "Bowling Queen" you found a few years back? Yikes, though. Change out those blackened bulbs in the backbox. It's amazing that the backglass held up so well with them in there. Once they get black like that, they burn really hot.

Looks nice...can you send more pictures of the game? Good find.

    #19 6 years ago

Will do Vic. It’s not set up yet just making room. Cabinet didn’t even have a scratch until I put one there

Well I continue to get em's in for service. Some get repaired, & many get junked for parts. Spent 6 hours on this one, & it wasn't looking good. If I can't get them working for $100 - $200, I charge a flat $60 for having a look (usually 1-2 hours). So the owner decided to not to waste any more money ($60), & release the pin for parts salvage. This one had a seized lock bar, even with a hammer & drill for lock it took a lot of effort. This one came from P.E.I. & was likely operated for many years before finding a private home. Head went to a friend with fair glass, & reels are being removed to keep other Gottlieb pins going. Another local wants to make a coffee table, & still hasn't picked it up. So far over the last 23 years I must of junked 30+ em pins, & likely 50 electronic pins.

Shame to junk that pin, it was salvageable...

    #23 6 years ago

If that game were complete with a decent glass, I'd pay $400. From a business perspective, I understand you can not sink 10 hours into a repair. I wonder why it has the old style front door?

Should collect them and send them down to the states here via cargo container. With the price of some EM's here could still turn a profit and save them.

Yes kind of odd. Only thing I can think of is like my parents did in the early 70s they put it in all possessions. That way if it were stolen they had an ID on it.

You junked THIS? WTF? That game would have been an easy restore. Plus, that's an in demand game.

Instead, it's another one lost, and worse, some jamoche wants to make a coffee table out of it.

I'll make a suggestion and get out before I say something that will bring the ban hammer on me. Next time you can't fix a game, offer it for sale on here. Someone would have jumped all over that.

    #28 6 years ago

Omg. Look at that playfield! I can't believe this was "junked"?

i thought the same thing, i had to bite my tongue. i really can not see there being all that many em's in halifax. i was there in the mid 80's a few times and i don't recall one bar with a pin, and i was in almost every bar.

Guys for all the crap on here I get, there are very few techs here. I have been fixing pins for over 20+ years, & our last life long tech passed away a few years ago. There are younger techs getting into the hobby now, & I share any repair info I know. We also lost a close friend who was a big em collector & could spend endless hours trying to repair anything he got. He received all the salvageable parts from the em's I junked over the years.

If someone is interested in this plug & play playfield shipped for $200 US. I will get a bike box.

I just added my comments to the op's nice find, & how this one looks with almost 3 times the play.

Here’s some pics of Abra set up. Just order a couple plastics. I’ll replace the lock. The previous owner made a free play switch. Coin mecbs look brand new and look like they were never used.

I'm in Saskatoon in Canada and I am willing to buy pretty much any pinball game to restore. We get like 1 or 2 a year on kijiji and they are scooped up almost instantly. The games I have were in way worse condition than the one you posted and I never dreamed of parting them out.
I would have for sure bought this game from you and restored it. It looks like it would have been the easiest to restore out of the 3 games I've done so far this year...

Don't part games. if you can't fix it. sell it to someone that can. there not making these anymore.

Not to rain on your parade but that sure looks like a route game to me. Clearly a low play route game that appears to have been decently taken care of and not overly exposed to the elements or anything but a route game none the less.

The coin inserts and coin bezel would be the real tell.

I'm amazed at how well many operators took care of their games.

    Nice find.
