    Quoted from Vic_Camp:

    D....what game is that?

Looks like a "Volley" to me.

    #52 1 year ago

    I don't know for sure it's a Volley.

    Quoted from boilerman:

i agree with mike, some operators took good care of there games. i have had a few lightly routed games over the years in pretty nice shape.
    looked to be HUO game.
i had only one that had this, paint still in the serial number stamp. game in mint all the way around. is it HUO i'll never know but it is nice that is all that really matters to me.

2nd sample game off the line whatever game it is.

    #54 1 year ago

Yes S for a early sample game. I had Bally Paragon 1001. Glass was slightly different colors, & Bally stamped sample inside the head.

The front door trim shows it's a late 1970's large size cabinet. I hope it's a replay game and not an Add a Ball so we can get a game meter total plays count on that gem.

I had Spectrum 1001. Sold it to Herb Silvers long ago. Way too cheap. He made a killing on it.

After looking again at my Volley....it could very well be one.

    Quoted from Vic_Camp:

    D....what game is that?

    it is a gorgeous Volley.
Vic have you ever seen a serial number stamp that unmolested?

    #60 1 year ago

My Volley is almost that good. So there.

we should make a volley thread, it is one of the top 5 wedgeheads IMO. i love the game so much i have 3 of them and maybe a 4th soon

I would have to check some of my serial number stamps on my extremely low played gems in my collection to verify if yours in the most unmolested.
Here's my Volley's accurate game meter play count...The machine is in excellent original condition.

i don't have a pic of the counter but if i recall it is <10k the game has not been set up since i got it. it needs to be shopped. i hope to get it done this winter
but i never was one to put much stock in the counter numbers, since they can be altered, disconnected or broken.
ball arch is a good method of showing low plays IMO

    #64 1 year ago

I have a Buccaneer in terrific shape that had < 7,800 plays when i got it, probably has 8,500 now.

I can tell by the condition of the pf, mechs and cabinet that that is a pretty accurate number. It's the nicest wedgehead I have ever seen.

Would love to put these nice survivors together somewhere.

    #65 1 year ago

Here is mine today. I play it almost daily.

    instead of hijacking mine.

Where is this thread going? Havana?
At least your Find is getting a lot of traffic and views.
Us EM fans just like showing off and sharing their finds and treasures.
Good Luck with getting your AbraCaDabra back into fine playing shape.

that is the great thing about the em group, threads start in one place and go in another direction then back to were it started. a very fluid environment

    #68 1 year ago

Well, the OP really should have posted under "Show us your EM pinball machines", or "What game did you bring home today?", rather than starting a new thread.
Being that he did not, he should expect others to want to chime in with their own cherry wedgeheads.

It could partially be due to where the serial number is stamped. Not that your game isn't in outstanding condition, but the paint around the serial number probably gets a lot less abuse being where it is compared to the usual location.

jr i believe they moved the serial number from under the coin to top left of the coin door when they went to the larger door. true that area gets less abuse but i never seen a serial number with paint in it, i always assumed the number was punched after paint. that is because every serial number i have seen the paint around the numbers was always missing.

    #71 1 year ago

I had to join the Volley club, should start a owners thread.

My serial number has some paint in the numbers, 30K plays

Bump for Abra Ca Dabra. I found a buyer for the playfield in the states. He is fixing up a poor example.

    #73 1 year ago

Here is my Abra Ca Dabra playfield I restored.
It had heavy wear with clear and paint loss from what appeared to be from someone playing with a rusty ball, not sure but there was very heavy wear in the upper arch area. Also the original finish had many cracks and resulted in black grime getting into those area's.

The inserts were very concave, it took several times of adding catalyzed urethane clear to level prior to clear coating.
It's not perfect but alot better than what I started with.

could it be ? the small door games had the serial number stamped AFTER paint and the large door games they started stamping the serial number BEFORE paint? they did start doing a lot of things differently during the cabinet change. just a thought, no real evidence other than what i have seen over the years

Shopped the Abra today Looks really nice.

    How does it play?

    #77 1 year ago

abra was plagued with that crappy cabinet rear particleboard panel. most have large chunks missing, how is yours?

    great find Rich congrats.

    Nothing missing. Looks great.

    Quoted from Spanishsilver:

they countered with 800 I held my offer at 500 because I hadn’t seen the machine yet.

I'm curious. Not a thought about giving them a little more after seeing it? Don't get me wrong, I don't think I would have but I would've probably felt a little twinge of guilt. But everything balances out I guess. You win some and lose a lot more.

    #81 1 year ago

No guilt here. I’ve let items go for a lot less than they’re worth.

I’ve been sand bagged enough and I’ve gotten a few deals like this to counter them. It’s the sellers responsibility to properly value the item before listing. They started @2500 on CL and scared potential buyers away. Had they put this on eBay with pics, had a 1200 reserve, they could have tripled their money IMHO

Did your left hand plastic (above the left flipper) break off into pieces?

It looks worse (bigger piece missing) than what you had posted in photos from post#39?

You lost me there. My add-a-ball game has a game count meter.

    #85 1 year ago

I don't think Gottlieb installed game meters in any of their add a balls manufactured from the factory (unless special order?).
I guess a vendor could have added one to your Add a Ball game....What's the title of your game?
