Nice pic by the Baywatch .... Looks like that game has legs ...lol
Looks fantastic fellas/gals. I wanted this year to be my first YEGPIN, alas, my children and their sports trumped my crazy wants. Spent a week on the road including a 3 day hockey tournament for my youngest in Cranbrook for a spring tourney. He ages out next year so my spring should be more open to try to attend, meet all of you for once.
I really have only met Jason (Pokey) and DirkDiggler (Jay). Would love smash beers and rock some pins with all of you
Quoted from yellowghost:Is there anything to do in the surrounding areas? If somebody needs to take a break from pinball?
Right in Sherwood park you can take a break and head here:

Other than that, prob have to head into city

I went to the movies this afternoon. A few minute drive.
Thanks to everyone for putting on a great show. Double thumbs up to Jamie and Tommy for getting those two kickass Black Knight's to the show!! Game is freaking awesome! Both played great and got about 10 games in on both machines. Was really surprised at the long ball times considering their predecessors. Favorite game of the show by far for me! Also Tyler's Judge Dredd played awesome. Left the show kicking myself for passing on one a few months ago.
Also if anyone wants a good laugh check out the back of that killer Iron Maiden premium. Maybe someone could take a pic? Thanks ranchero for pointing it out!

There's a pretty gnarly looking bowl and skate park right in the parking lot. I was out on a smoke break and watched two kids slam right into each other. Crowd erupted. Epic
Lots of great games, some super nice examples brought by local collectors. Played a lot of new games I never played before, plus got to re-visit some I used to own and no longer have. Love the ColorDMD in the Baywatch, looks awesome and a good example of the game. One of the only games I ever sold that I think about getting again.
Tyler (aeonblack on here I believe), I seemed to notice your name on a lot of super nice condition pins, thanks for bringing them out.
Just popped by the venue to see some friends. The new venue is great, Lots of room and some really nice pins .
Great job
Derrick and crew

I was wondering if anybody would notice that, lol.

You can tell it's well taken care of. It plays really well and looks imamaculate in every sense of the word!
Big thanks to all the donors!!
Thanks for the love guys! Dredd had some issues late last night/early today, but overall it's been running smooth, and all my other machines have been solid. That's been a bit of a weight off. It has been a really long week so far, otherwise I would have been lurking in here with all you taint guzzlers, but things have been running great since the show started. I've been running the streaming setup, and we've had a bunch of hiccups, but other than audio issues, things are running smooth if anyone wants to tune in tomorrow for the Canadian Pinball Classic finals. I'll be there doing commentary, and I will no doubt have a bunch of people popping in to join me for that throughout the day. Check it out at twitch.tv/diehardpinball
Yes, I though the venue and the setup was great! The hanger had alot of character, but working AC is awesome!
Quoted from libtech:The hanger had alot of character, but working AC is awesome!
The 80 year old hanger does have character, but can not compete with a large rec centre built to accommodate a large group of people.
Quoted from ImNotNorm:Finals taking place.

Who's in it? Streaming somewhere?

I tried to find it on twitch too but didn’t have much luck. If something gets put up, please post a link as I’d love to watch the finals! Thanks
Go to Twitch website (or Twitch mobile app) and do a search for:
diehardpinball
The live stream is over so just look for "clips" once you get there.

Thanks! I did try looking at diehardpinball on twitch, but it was only showing me some 30 second clips. I’ll go back and find the full videos. Thanks again
Fantastic venue this year - lots of space, great acoustics and it being in a public place allows lots of exposure to general public. Thanks so much to everyone involved!

Why is there almost an entire row of machines not powered up in the 7th picture? Are they broken?

Darn it, I also can't find anything longer than 30 seconds. Sorry about that!

How is it I keep missing running into you Jay?

Competition machines not in use
Big thumbs up for the new venue and the hotels that are close. The whole family had a great weekend. Gotta say, I'm really digging Octoberfest, might have to talk to Tommy soon.
My favorite game of the show... Alice Cooper’s Nightmare Castle. Solid art package IMO and probably the best use of the display I’ve seen recently. Cab, backglass, playfield and display have very consistent art direction which I can’t say for many games in recent years. Love the navigation through the rooms and battling monster theme. Lot’s of love put into this game and fun to shoot too. Those of you that ordered it won’t be disapponted!
Quoted from Spencer:How is it I keep missing running into you Jay?
I was only there till 6pm Friday. Tagged along with nightsearcher. Maybe next year I'll convince the wife to do the weekend again. Still got a jersey for ya
Another great thing about the show this year was I found it had just the right number of attendees. Never had to wait long for any game with almost no line longer than 1 deep and always many games available. For example, played new games like BKSOR, ACNC and Oktoberfest one after another with almost no wait for most of the weekend. Can’t say this about other shows and I really appreciated this!

Really shows how everyone has their own love. These were my biggest disappointments of the show. First game of Alice, meh. 2nd game not so good. Walked away on my third game. Maybe if you could hear it but I couldn't hear anything. Octoberfest I walked away after 2 balls into my second game and never looked back. But I loved bksor and have heard lots of people not liking it at all. There's really something for everyone
A number of machines were down at various times but found that often they were up and running again in short order. No stats but felt better than what I remembered in previous years. Thanks to all the tech staff for making this happen!
Also of note were far fewer non-working junk games and unplayable arcade games than last year which greatly improves perception to general public. Thanks to whoever is leading this charge!

Yeah, different strokes for sure. Games like ACNC and Oktoberfest require more investment into learning rules over many games before they shine - agree that one or two games won’t cut it. That’s why this was such a great show, one could play a large number of games on any game.
Thanks to all the organizers, donators , and volunteers! Had a great time. Getting better and better every year. Can’t wait for next year!
Amazing show! Tournaments were very well run, nitro section was awesome all the latest games, tons of cool games on the floor, location was great. Txs to all involved!!! Big success.
Loved the new venue and location, you guys keep raising the bar every year. Thanks so much to all the volunteers for all the hard work. We are so lucky to have such a world class event so close to us. Already can’t wait for next year.
Just got in and checking the comments. We were taking a chance moving this show. What I see of the comments and how it ran in the background, I call success. The Yegpin team is well organised and duty assigned, all 4 events I've been on transport crew, tech, and this year took on some pin vendor sponsor duty. Seeing the planning from September to now there is a ton of hours going into making it happen. I've seen more volunteers take on more areas of the show. I know there is some bashing between users on this forum, but this event, with the attendees, competitors, volunteers and Yegpin crew show what a tight community this is. It was especially good to see more younger (kids) show up, need to spread the fever! Of course, huge thanks to Tommy and Casey our partner sponsors. You guys and your staff have been with us all 4 years and always bring the coolest games for the expo. Looking forward to YEG5!
