IMO... you were smart to paint the entire surface that RadCals will be applied.
This because; they are somewhat transparent. Meaning if you have any old artwork, or dark patches / colors, they may show thru the RadCals.
This was shown in the Indiana Jones RadCals installation, you could see the old artwork slightly off set, thru the newly applied RadCals.
