Hello, I just got my xpin blue dmd in the mail, but my tron only has the 5v connector, the one they sent me looks like the HV version, but on the back of the dmd shows a picture for 5v only. Can I make this work with my tron or do i need to send it back for the 5v only one?

Thanks

You need the 5v one or their $65.00 bridge board.

or i believe you can send it back and they will convert it over, or if you feel confident you can do it, i emailed them one time and he gave me the instructions on how to convert it to work.

Take a larger picture of the other side of the board so the components can be seen. Mark may be right, you may have the HV version. Some LV displays did ship with the entire connector of your photo populated though, so another photo will be needed to tell.

Thanks, do you happen to have the instructions?

Yes, that's a HV version. I don't know if Brett is condoning user conversions any more or not. Contact him from the XPin web site to see what he suggests.

Thanks for the input everyone, I got it to work. I researched the LM5576 and found the input from the connector. The 5576 is the step down switching regulator and has an input range of 6-75 volts, I just put 12 volts on the connector along with the other 5 volts and it works just fine.
