The figure that is in the Xmen game, anyone know how much Stern charges for one if it needs replacing?

#2 11 years ago

I just ordered one for another Guy $92

That seems like highway robbery for a little plastic dude.

#4 11 years ago

If you mail a broken one back isn't that covered under warranty still?

#5 11 years ago

I have an extra one that I would sell for reasonable deal if anyone is in need of one.

#6 11 years ago

I've got an email in to them now as mine broke yesterday. The back channel tore right off from him around both edges. He still worked pretty good, a lot more movement out of him, and the switch worked better than it ever had. He's got a cool bobblehead effect going on now.

Just took him out today and have been painting him up, going to see if i can squeeze him down thinner with the channel in back completely missing.

Going to suck if they charge me 92$ for a replacement though! That guy was weak to have broken completely apart like that already.

I figured it would be high but I was not sure how high.

With that said, I got two for sale.

100% brand new, never installed and minty fresh!

$90 each, price includes shipping

Wish someone would come up with an alternative figure for him. There has to be some option for ~100$!

I bought an action figure a while ago that didn't work out. There's just so many versions of Wolverine out there it's really hard to weed through. I'm more apt to keep looking for an alternative over spending 90$ though.... mine fell right apart....

That channel in back was stepped in on mine leaving little material along both edges. Plus while painting it I notice air pockets all over the place with him. I split his blades up, and while his left hand middle blade was hollow at least it was flat and symmetrical. His right middle blade has a big air bubble right in the middle that's very noticeable now that I looked at it closer. And i don't see it on any of the pics posted in the mod threads, etc.

Then don't buy it.

The toy I had as a kid 20 years ago looks better than that thing, perhaps ebay? Look for the larger 10" to 12" inch ones and butcher em?

This one has punching action, perhaps someone can figure out how to rig it up to do the punching motion on the playfield?

How bout this? Just remove the base and its almost the same thing except it looks better.

And how did you end up with two extras?

Likely complained to Stern about having to cut and relocate him and wanted one or two in case he messes up

Threads like this are why it has become increasingly more difficult to get parts out of them. You think Powers likes these threads being slapped on his desk because trust me they are. I know first hand they are.

You mean the fact that we are debating price or the fact that someone is selling 2 of them?

I will sell them back to Stern if they like, have your Powers PM me.

I think he means the fact they replaced them under warranty for a supposedly 'defective' part, and then that person is out selling them.

Smells bad doesn't it?

#21 11 years ago

I guess they can inflate the prices on a 2 dollar part to recoup their loses from a few people ripping them off.

Oh wait...

Vistor Q is the only person I have seen trying to sell these, and Stern has a 4000% percent mark up. Besides nobody knows how Q got the parts, people are just assuming. Q could have bought them at that price. I'm buying an extra Magneto to have Zdoor paint it. Similar price and I know Stern aren't passing those out to customers because of a design problem. Why the 4000% mark up there? (Rhetorical question: Answer is people want to make money)

+1 to that. Pat knows who he gave 2 of them for. When i sold my Ac/dc i got lots of phone calls from stern directly to me asking about that train.......

Quoted from jimjim66:

All i am saying is that if you get parts to replace things and let alone 2 of said parts...unless you bought them from a vendor which we know you didn't as you are asking what stern charges. Best to not go turning a profit off something they gave you for free. It is threads like this that have tighten the parts flow from them.

I sniffed my monitor, nothing!

One sold, one still available.

Yeah, you're right, I guess he would have said he bought them off a vendor if he had, and he wouldn't have done a price check.

Someone can email this thread link directly to Stern, I could care a less and that is putting it nicely.

These were not obtained underhandedly but it is nice that people always draw to the worst conclusion when it comes to things.

What a great way to start the New Year, isn't it?

#26 11 years ago

The point is they where obtained for your machine not to sell for a profit. You paid ZERO. Secondly has also been harder to get parts like this from Stern as more and more people are getting parts from Stern and then flipping them. I know you dont care becasue you dont care if you burn the bridge with pupo or powers.

The nice and honest thing would be to send them back or give them away for free.

Look. If you don't want to buy one, you don't have to but the next time you have something for sale I will be sure to come shit all over your thread too.

This has nothing with anyone... Pupo? Powers? I am not even sure who you are referring too!! Austin Powers?

I think the real point here is they are MINE! I can do whatever I want with them. If I want to burn one out in the street I will... However that would be silly since they are worth $92 dollars.

Honestly though... I may burn one, piss on it to put it out and take pictures just for you.

*Sigh*

#29 11 years ago

I n t e g r i t y

I guess it is not required on pinside or in pinball.

#30 11 years ago

Without the facts everybody else is just left shaking their heads on this one...

If these were somehow improperly obtained from Stern then I guess Visitor Q not someone you would want to deal with.

If he came by these legitimately, WFT is with all the hate?

If I had something I had lawfully acquired and I was selling the last thing I would tolerate would be someone accusing me of essentially theft...

#31 11 years ago

Derek sold him a Xmen. Jason bitched to Derek about wolverine Damage. Derek emailed Powers.Stern accidently sent Derek 2 figures . Derek forwarded them to Jason. Jason didnt pass them on when he sold his xmen. I know whats going on just fine. I wonder if the new owner of xmen was told of the damage???? Or if there ever was damage and he just used Derek to get new ones........

Feeeeewwwww... Seems like there is still some unfinished business here! Please let us know as soon as you get to the bottom of that!

LMFAO! Man... I can't wait to get the back story on you guy!!

Yes... I am a dishonest person, some would say a regular "boogeyman of pinball".

I mean just look at this wretched post.

http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/good-guys-alert-sammiesguys-and-visitorq

I am truly a shamed.

AkumaZeto you are a treat, thank you for making my night. People all around the forum will rest easy knowing that you are on the case. You are the voice of Pinsiders everywhere! Think of all the lives that have been saved here today! You are a true Gumshoe!

Now could you please tell us where Jimmy Hoffa is buried?

LOL! I just saw you initials under your avatar! OH MY GOD!

CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#34 11 years ago

Is that thread supposed to show that you are a great guy? You sold a machine... not sure how that is evidence of you being a great guy?

You may want to get some better material. Just saying that flipping some toys for $90 is not offset by selling a machine and helping a guy load it.

These are both now sold.

Thanks to the purchasers but a special thank to all the "haters" (no names, if the shoe fits yada yada yada) for repeatedly bumping my post to the top of the list. It certainly gave it a lot of looks!

Thanks Everyone!

Nothing wrong with Q here guys. I've met him and he is a good guy. Don't think anything shady going on with this.

#45 11 years ago

You seem to know it all! Why not ask your "sources" (yes I am making that hand jesture) and you tell us Sherlock?

#46 11 years ago

Derek musket the person who sold you the XMen and was nice enough to help you told me. So um yeah happy flipping

#47 11 years ago

Ok. Simple Question

Does your mother know you are on the computer this late?

#48 11 years ago

Lol I'm cracking up at this thread. Q seems like you're cold busted but reveling in it!

#49 11 years ago

VisitorQ bought an x-men from someone and complained about wolverine damage. The seller was able to convince someone at Stern to give VisitorQ a free wolverine and they mistakenly sent him two. VisitorQ decided he doesn't like x-men, good call, and sells it to someone else and does not include any wolverines in the sale?
