Pretty random set of circumstances led to this...a documentary featuring Suzanne Ciani. The producer reached out to a buddy of mine asking if there was a Xenon that could be filmed with Suzanne in the area.

I happened to have gotten this one two weeks ago. CPU was dead on it, hadn't had much attention, but playfield looked nice. Cointaker was able to rush me out an Alltek boars, and I spent a few hours doing a light shop job and replacing a TON of bulbs on this game.

We had hoped to get Suzanne out to me, but that didn't happen, so arrangements were made to bring Xenon into Modern Pinball NYC and we would film there.

I will say that it was an awesome day today. Meeting Suzanne was pretty fantastic. Great to talk to as a person, and watching her play Xenon was a special experience. My daughter was with us and Suzanne thought it was neat that she enjoys this hobby with me.

Happy ending....things worked out and Xenon is making a new home at Modern, in an arcade where she will be loved as she was originally intended.

Anyway, here are some of the pictures...

Yes, you CAN fit a Xenon into a Forester Loaded up last night.

Couple of shots of Suzanne playing Xenon. She was so into it and moving around like crazy...you could see she truly loved the game!

My daughter helped a ton. She played for a while to let the crew get some extra footage.

Thanks for sharing this. My father-in-law had a Xenon in the basement when my wife was growing up. There is a great you tube video that talks about Suzanne Ciani's role in development of this game:

Cool stuff! Wish I could have made it. (had a neighbor get together)
Looks like you had a great time!

NJGecko,
Fit it in a forester? You can fit it in a WRX. More fun!

Very cool!

This was very cool. But what's amazing is the holes in my knowledge. I'd never even heard of her...had to Google her to find out who she was. And I've spent my whole life in music.

I love this video from Expo 2013. It gives a great history on the development of Xenon as well as (obviously) Suzanne's role in the production.

Did you get Suzanne to autograph the game?

Her signature under some clearcoat on the apron or playfield would be the ultimate!

Just wanted to circle back..
Here is the link to the doc

It's about her, not the machine. No, didn't get her to autograph.

It was just so awesome to hear her listening to each sound and discussing how she made it...not only was it her voice, it was her doing the recording, so double the involvement. Listening to the amount of creative freedom she had was very refreshing. I walked her over to the AC/DC at Modern and we talked about how every aspect of that machine was probably thought, rethought, discussed, signed off on..and she was just doing things on her own with Xenon. Days gone by....different times!
