Quoted from mcluvin:

I just installed Xpin Taxi displays a month ago. They work great. I wish they would include some generic nylon standoffs as their mounting holes were smaller than my original standoffs, but a trip to Lowe's fixed that.

System 11 games are crazy when it comes to how they mounted the displays in the games. I have seen as many as 6 different methods from blind-hole pcb standoffs to t-nuts with plastic spacers. I wish that I could create a hardware kit to cover every possible mounting, but that just isn't practical. If I increase the hole size for one type of standoff, then the screws will be the wrong size for another game. Tough calls...

Quoted from Cheddar:

I'd go with the cheaper one or whichever has the longer warranty

Concerning the XPin™ warranty, everything has a warranty for two years against any manufacturing defect. I can't warranty though against a problem where the game itself causes the damage or defect, i.e. mods or hacks in the game that bypass normal operation.

Yep...cut and paste error on my part...thanks for pointing it out. For the record, all of the assemblies are made in Phoenix, AZ.

To all my supporters, thank you for your kind words. Knowing that I can make a difference in keeping this awesome hobby alive and thriving is a big part of what keeps me going!

Yes they do.

The brightness of the display is dependent on how often they put it up there. For example, you have a row of 16 characters. The game firmware is going to put all 16 characters up there at such a rate that it seems that they are always on, even though it turns 1 character on, then off, moves to the next, then on/off, and so on. To reduce the brightness of a character, it would skip it every other cycle or however many times needed to give the dimming effect, which would give the impression of dimming because it was not on as much as all of the other characters if they were to be on all the time.
