Quoted from Sparky:What's wrong with the callouts?
I dislike them. But I have to admit I don't follow Xmen or really any comics or the movies. Love the pinball layout though.
Quoted from Sparky:I was making the assumption that mbob wanted to change the callouts because he disliked the voices, not because the callouts said the wrong thing. Confirmed in his most recent post.
It's a combination of what they say and the voices. Very meh. It doesn't bother me enough to unload an otherwise deep fantastic game. The villain mode sounds actually are decent. Just hearing the Xmen voices are bland to me.
Quoted from gweempose:Some aren't bad. Wolverine, Phoenix and Professor X are actually pretty good. It's Beast and Storm that make me cringe.
Agree
Quoted from TimeBandit:Wolvie does seem to start a bit too easily, but Newton ball fix seems to address that pretty simply.
I never installed the Newton ball though I do have one if I change my mind. I like the challenge of avoiding Wolverine to setup a stack as it's different from just smashing away.
My XMen is viciously fast which creates some short games. I need to dirty up the flipper coil sleeves or something lol.
I suck at the skill shot. Most of the times I roll over the lane switch (too hard) and if I don't are the times I brick the shot somehow. I'm lucky to make a single one in a game.
Quoted from rockrand:I waited a long time also but just made the switch and it really does change the game for the better, after looking for figures I decided on the paper weight because of the action pose, and color detailing of wolvie and he was the least amount of money
Id switch out those metal cliffy magnet protectors for the carbon fiber ones. The metal ones curl and damage the play field potentially
Quoted from TimeBandit:I did like it. I like all pinball machines. But these days, with the bigger amounts of money tied up in each game, and having more than my limit in the house, I am getting more discerning about what I keep. Think of it more as a big up vote for X-Men rather than a down vote for GB. Sometimes you have to ask your games some tough questions, and often the best way to make a decision as to what has to go is just pit one against another for a few days and say, "well, one of you has to go."
X-Men has won a few in a row now. This is one great game.
Bandit - Are you a fan of Xmen comics or movies in general? I like the game but no where near the level you seem to be at but I do have a pro not the le and I could care less about the theme.
