Quoted from tsool:

Sorry to have irritated you that I want to blame it on the software. Not the case. It might just be coincidence that it popped up after installing 1.24. I agree with you on that.
I will look at the trough switches and have to see if the number of balls is matching the actual number of balls inside the trough, correct?

Curious if you've made any progress!

Quoted from tsool:

Furthermore, I just read another thread. Somebody found out that some of his optos inside the Magneto gate are firing when the Nightcrawler pops up since upgrading to 1.24 and thus gives him hits/locks without the ball actually being there.
I think I will have a look at the gate as well and not only at the drain.

Keep updating. I'm interested to see what you find out. I am new to pinball in general and I found this thread a little bothersome. I would hope that most people would want to help without condition. Why would I have to agree with someone's opinion about what might be wrong?

To that end, though, it's worth pursuing all thoughts, especially when you're trying to figure something out early on. At least that's my take.

Solid state pinball seems like a complex interplay between software and hardware. I work in IT and am more comfortable troubleshooting software problems. So, I would want the problem to be software related. I don't feel at all confident troubleshooting the mechanical side. However, I'd get more comfortable having to deal with the mechanical side. That's for sure.

Good luck.
