This isn't quite done yet, and I need to push out a bunch of Iron Maiden mods before I finish this up, but it should give you an idea of what will soon be possible to fix the stark white X-Men insert lighting. Since there are so many areas, I'm going to offer it as 4 mods:

1. A mode light bracket for the mode lights
2. A "Shoot Again" bracket to make it the traditional orange
3. A set of color-coded brackets for the rectangular character inserts
4. An X-wheel bracket that colorizes the characters on the X-wheel so they match the colored inserts.

Here's what they look like with all of them installed:

It'll probably be a couple weeks before these will be sold. The design work is completely done and the prototypes work great, but my printers are tied up making Iron Maiden mods at the moment. I need to get past this mountain of Iron Maiden orders first, then I can make some of these...

All the X-Men brackets are in the Pin Monk store now. There are two listings, but 4 options total (two options within each listing):

Mode Lights alone
Mode Lights with Shoot Again bracket
Character Lights alone
Character Lights with X-Circle bracket

If you want the full monty with all color brackets available, you want:
Mode Lights with Shoot Again bracket and the Character Lights with X-Circle bracket.

It was a good suggestion to have a look at it! Kind of like Ghostbusters. I didn't really think it needed all those white inserts colored, but now that I've done with gradients of 4 colors (1 per insert ladder and GHOST inserts) it, I like it quite a lot.

That X-Men wheel is the biggest bracket I've done, though. It's beefy.

Update for these - apologies to the people who have been waiting on delivery. A couple colors for this and the Ghostbusters brackets were unexpectedly backordered. I received the Ghostbusters ones and have shipped them all out, but still waiting on the backordered colors for these. Expect to have them any day and will get them shipped out once they arrive. The brackets are done, just waiting on a complete set of colors to cut and put in them.
