I have a Sega X Files and the other night it started re-booting during game play. I have done some research and think it is the +5V issue. When I tested the voltage points one was below the +5 Volts. I disconnected and re-connected the power to the top board and that seems to fix the voltage issue. Has anyone else had this problem with X Files?

Any suggestions on what else I might do so this doesn't happen again?

Whitestar boards have this problem all the time these days. They're getting on 15+ years old, so I don't blame them. There's a small square pot, R116, on the lower big board (power/driver) that you can adjust to up your 5v. Just turn it slowly, and leave it at a point where the test point on the CPU measures 5v.

Thanks. So far it seems to be okay since I did the re-connection. I'll keep the square pot adjustment as my next step if I need it.

What is the 5v measuring after reseating the connector?
