Quoted from jbigdoggf:

Question... is there a adjust for gobstopper hole default position / angle ?
I keep searching and cannot find it... although I swear I found one before but I could have been confused with text.
Feels like my angle is a little off

Do you mean the angle is off as to where the hole stops (it should only stop at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock), or the entire rotating mechanism in relation to the playfield (flush vs. too high or too low)? If you mean the latter, there's a little metal... well, I'll just take a photo of mine since my faulty gobstobber mechanism is sitting right next to me

Turn the threaded metal ring below the nut to raise or lower the gobstopper disc, and the white plastic ring locks/unlocks your ability to turn that metal ring.

What do you mean here about the the gold bolts? Also, is anyone else having a problem with their lockdown bar? Mine takes a lot of effort to lock into place, and often requires a few minutes of jimmying until the mechanism fits/looks properly.

The JJP lockdown bars seem really finicky. I have lots of issues with WoZ and Pirates. WoZ I adjusted the brass screws, made a bit of a difference, still takes some finagling every time. Pirates refuses to latch closed with those screws all the way down or all the way up or any state in between, but thankfully doesn't really move anyway. Wonka and Hobbit lock down pretty well, but still rarely as easy as a Stern bar.

I assume this is just an issue with my machine (which has had over a half dozen issues already), but do anyone else's flippers "chop" when the ball is coming at them at high speed? Particularly my right flipper. By chop I mean when a ball is coming down fast and you hit it, it doesn't travel back up the playfield smoothly, instead the ball does a little hop first. Kind of like hitting a sharp grounder to second base or something. Could it be the flipper isn't perfectly parallel to the playfield? Could just be the ball is picking up a strong spin that's making this happen, too.

Quoted from wesman:

I had to reset, adjust my receiver for Pirates, to get the playfield to sit properly, as well as the yellow latch to sit in place. It's maybe a good idea to check your alignment by shifting the receiver itself, by removing the mounting bolts that sit outside the front of the cab. Then you can slide the receiver a bit and adjust as necessary.

Will give this a shot, thanks!

Quoted from romulusx:

I have a Wonka SE,is it worth a $150 to install a PL shaker motor?
Does it make much difference?I'm trying to decide between this or
a $150 Wonkavator

The things the shaker motor does during the Wondrous Boat Ride mode (or whatever it's called in the game), along with the chasing lights, is the best theme integration I've ever seen in a game before. So yes, very yes.

Quoted from Skipnatty:

I have the same issue. Fixed it once, they just came loose again.

Oh no. I was hoping that was a one and done issue. So far mine hasn't come loose again in about three weeks. My Augustus spinner on that switch has also come apart, currently held together with clear packing tape.

Quoted from Max_Badazz:

I bought a chocolate bar mod here on Pinside that protects the fragile piece and still looks pretty good

Do you have a link or store for that? My Oompa is currently dismembered at both the hand and foot and I'm waiting on a new one (thanks for the quick response, Steve!), but when I get it and reinstall, some protection from this happening again would be nice. There's something extra sad about seeing an Oompa Loompa lying face down on the playfield with its limbs broken off.

Quoted from Max_Badazz:

the issue is more with bouncing around the left ramp area.

Ah, never thought of that, that makes sense. It could've happened during multiballs, but otherwise I don't ever remember the Oompa taking a direct hit.

Quoted from BigSilverPin:

I want to change my flipper rubbers to blue. Any suggestions on which ones to grab? I ordered some and didn't love the colors/they seem a tad too tight of a fit.
Thanks!

Mine are Titan silicone blue. Neither photo is ideal since they're being lit up by either color LEDs or an overactive flash, but anyway, I like 'em. I did the uppers as well, but no toppers on them. Might switch 'em out for light blue and see how they look. The regular blue matches the armor on the LE, but the lighter blue would match the playfield better.

I'm pretty sure that I got the Wonka with every possible problem.

I think I'd give you a run for your money. We could compare notes but I don't want to tempt the pinball gods since nothing has broken in a week or two. Nice Wonka. Niiiice Wonka. <pets the machine>
