Hey guys, I just brought home a Wonka LE. It came with the Mezel Mods factory with pipes as well as the Mod Couple Factory. I removed the Mezel factory mod and trying to install the Mod Coupe factory, but don’t understand how it mounts. There’s all kinds of interference. I guess I’m missing something...any guidance would be appreciated.

I got it installed guys, thanks. What a killer game! Seems low scoring like WOZ, this thing is kicking my ass like nobody’s business, this game is going to take time to figure out. So much going on in a standard size playfield, wow.

What are the code or call out differences with the CE vs the LE? I heard the CE has additional call outs and video clips? Would be cool if something like pinbrowser became available for JJPs to unlock unused assets in the game code. I’m enjoying the game so far, but it does get repetitive after a while and more audio and video clips from the movie would have been nice.

#7345 3 years ago

Recommended! The game ramps up the shaker at the start of Wonkavator multi ball and it’s a great effect. I set the shaker strength to high.

Quoted from Yelobird:

Put in another 2 hours letting Wonka whoop my ass and tapped out. lol How can a game that makes you so happy make you so Mad! Amazing game but as a cute candy kids theme its an ass kicker!

It’s brutal, for sure. I’ve owned it for a week and still learning the shots and rules. Three golden tickets and 7.5M is my best so far. Factory settings except added extra ball for replay and special and set tilt warnings to max. I nudge a LOT with this game. It definitely keeps me coming back for more!

#7352 3 years ago

Ha, yes two tickets consistently. I got three one game and had Wonka’s office mode kit. Then drained my last ball...shame as that seemed like a cool mode. Will keep trying!

#7358 3 years ago
Quoted from Skipnatty:

Wonka's Office is for your second ticket...now I'm really confused lol

OK, so I reached it on my second ticket then. I’ve reached his office twice and did have three tickets lit one game. Need to practice more, I’m sure there’s more to see deeper into the game.

My Wonka LE came with the Mezel Mods full chocolate factory mod and I replaced it with the MOD couple factory. I have no use for this, will sell for $85 shipped in continental US. PM me if interested.

Today I installed the Hallmark 2017 Wonka Christmas ornament, Mezel chocolate bars and ModCouple good/bad egg and chocolate falls mods. I still have the Charlie burp tube of danger mod to install if I can find a place for it. The playfield is crazy busy, I think I'm definitely done adding toys to this game now, lol. Only other thing I want to do is adding some bass to the game...perhaps a Pinwoofer system is next.

The sound quality on my Wonka LE has little to no bass. It sounds like all treble and no punch or bass. This is how my Houdini was until I added a Polk external sub connected to the factory amplifier and adjusted the bass and treble gain knobs to my liking. Made a HUGE difference in the sound quality and immersion when playing Houdini.

I see Wonka also has a lower cabinet woofer, but I don’t hear much, if any, bass. Is there a way to turn up the lower frequencies on the built in audio system or does one have to go with a PinWoofer system? Most of my games have either PinWoofer or PinSound+ systems, but some have killer factory sound like Iron Maiden LE or Hobbit LE. Wonka definitely needs help in the audio department!

Anyone have used mods for sale for this game before I buy some new stuff?

I have the Mezel complete factory mod for sale, posted earlier in this thread. $75 shipped in US

What are you all replacing those three white rubber post bumpers with? These white rubbers get dirty right away and don’t look very good IMO. Any suggestions are welcome.

Did some Saturday wrenching on the Wonka. Moved the left outer post up and moved the black plastic plug down lower. Replaced the inner metal post rubber with a cap rubber and the ball still passes through all three lanes just fine. Also removed all flipper coils and cleaned plunger assemblies, stops and replaced plunger sleeves.

Going to order a full Titan rubber kit and iron repair the pooling around the sling and other posts soon. I already have the Titan silicon spacers, PinMonk Mylar circles and new colored sling star posts ready to install. Which colored star posts look good on the LE? The six clear factory posts look boring.

Quoted from Yelobird:

Can you share how the Hell you got that black plug out? I'm guessing drill is the option but hoped there was an easier way. Looks good!

You just tap it out from the bottom of the playfield with a drill bit and hammer. I thought the plug was steel, but it’s just plastic. Thanks

New code. Haven't installed yet.[quoted image]

Nice! Longer ball save times and “various other improvements and fixes.” Time to backup my scores and update the Wonka!

#7872 3 years ago

That sucks...maybe a locked transistor fried the coil. Hope not and it's just the coil itself. I'm going to hold off on this update for a bit.

Quoted from Pinman502:

I’ve had mine for two weeks and it is bad already have chipping
[quoted image]

Regular star posts and/or silicon washers will cover most of not all of that clear chipping. Mylar rings also pictured at right...pick your solution

Quoted from paulbaptiste:

Anybody own both Wonka and Elvira HOH and can speak to a preference? I'm thinking of listing my Wonka LE for an Elvira but have only been able to play one on location so can't speak to the longevity of the game. I know these opinions would be highly subjective but for those who have owned or do own both it'd be nice to hear your thoughts.
The problem with letting JJPs go is I will most likely not own one again, or be able to afford it a year or two from now. Although this will probably be true for EHOH as well.

I would not sell one for the other, they are both amazing top 10 pins and similar in terms of eye candy and fun factor. I guess it depends which theme you connect with more. I won’t be selling either of these titles, they are as good as it gets.

Quoted from FlippinJB:

Agreed. Same over here. In fact I'd have put it in the top position if I could muster up the bravery to hammer out the black plug from the top hole! Just the second hole makes a difference, and the game a lot more enjoyable, imho.

This is a 10 minute job, no hammer needed. The black plastic plug can be pushed out with a nail or similar, don’t hammer your game. Yes, the adjustment to the top position made the game more enjoyable IMO

Quoted from pcprogrammer:

Ok Wonka owners. Have a big problem. This game is so awesome it's making it impossible to pick out another pin to buy. Nothing really compares. Any suggestions? I've owned woz before so not that. Don't want dialed in. Don't want gnr. Ideas for anything that comes even close to this masterpiece?

Rick & Morty Bloodsuckers, just an incredible pin!

Hobbit LE, Elvira Premium/LE, Iron Maiden Premium/LE are other epic pins to consider

Personally, I’ve been listing after a Jurassic Park LE. That game is serious eye candy!

I have a spare Wonka LE playfield if anyone's interested. Prefer local pickup, but might ship UPS ground at buyer's expense. $695 asking price. It's flawless except for a chip in the upper right corner which wouldn't be visible after game installation.

Wifey got this for Christmas Tree last year but I want to put it somewhere on my WW SE.
Anybody have pics of their placement? I looked at gallery and figured out best placement
[quoted image]

My Wonka is folded up in storage, but you can sort of see where I mounted the Hallmark figurine in the upper left area on top of the ramp. It fits and looks great there. I stuck it down with foam servo tape.
