Wondering if you owners can comment on the music for Wonka - I'm contemplating adding it to my collection but worried the soundtrack will grind on me after a while. It's specifically why I wouldn't seek a WOZ, "I'm off to see the Wizard" at the start of every game would just drive me up the walls lol.

Awesome thanks for that. I'm finding it hard to hear the music with streams (either glass is off or not mic'd well), can you independently adjust the music and callout/fx volume do you know?

Thanks for the music comments. I guess I'm nervous because I didn't think music bothered me until I got Munsters. The gameplay on this I really like, but I usually end up playing with the sound off and whack some music on in the background. There's only so many times I can hear theme song music like that! OTOH, my GoT I love because the music is so cinematic, it really draws me in and adds to the appeal. I often crank that right up. Hard to know until you've owned it a while, but I do find myself gravitating to pins with good sound (TNA is another I love, probably because of this).

I'd be all for a POTC but trying to find one is nigh on impossible

I’m revisiting the possibility of getting a Wonka. My main hesitation is the music. Does it get to you hearing that theme song over and over or is it ok? Can it be changed? I sold Munsters because of this…

Wondering if anyone might have a vector file of a Wonka golden ticket by any chance?

New recruit to Wonka here (and JJP);other than doing backflips over how good this thing plays, the sound seems to be devoid of decent midrange.

Is there an eq or balance setting in the menu that I can’t seem to find? Or anyone replace their mids with something slightly more sensitive?

Dan I’m curious - if I had to point fingers at the problem I’d be looking immediately at the midrange driver. Yet your kit upgrades the woofer and tweeter but not the mid. Is that because it’s a sealed basket driver which would be difficult to source? Or do you find that driver itself is fine once powered with your amplifier?

The game doesn’t seem to be bass-heavy in the music so I’m wondering if just adding the external amp would suffice as an upgrade…

Gate mod looks factory, and I’m definitely hating the pops due to the random chance of an unfair drain. But I’m not sure I’m ready to change the game this much! Like it’s a significant change, and then I’d have the guilt of thinking I’m not playing it how Lawlor intended. Is that wrong? Ha.

I’m thinking as an in-between, might see if I can stop the auto launch for ball save so I can soft launch.

I knew this day was coming; I’ve seen there’s some different versions out there and also the extended camera platform thing, but does it really need anything at all?

Looks amazing! I'm curious what the translite mod really adds. I haven't noticed any dark spots on mine, or is it a case of you don't know how bad it is until you fix it?

Also, not sure how much longer I can go without upgrading the sound lol. It really is mediocre next to my heavily upgraded Sterns!

I've seen a Wonka with Pinstadiums, and it's the first game I've had that could do with them I think. Definite dark spots; even Gene Wilder on the playfield is not illuminated.

What version are people going for? There's a few options, and some retailers still have stock of the previous generation of which there are also different levels. I like the idea of the new Neo versions being a lot thinner, but the older gen ones would be about half the price.....

Is it possible some ambient noise attenuated the flipper noise on location with TS4? I can't imagine anything significant changing internally...

I was initially against these out of principle (respect to the original design) but the longer I own it the closer I am to buying lol. I don’t mind the odd unfair drain, but when you’re in multiball and the ball save timer is on, then it drains three balls in a row, I get the sh!ts hahaaaa.

Just wondering everyone’s setup, as I’m relatively new to Wonka and finding it a fine line. I’m at 6.75deg pitch and flipper power is up +3 from default (ie 21 left and 20 right). It still feels on the slow and floaty side, I’m wanting to go up to maybe 6.9deg but would probably have to power the flippers up even more. Is that a bad thing?

I think my main issue is I have a few Sterns in the lineup so it becomes harder to acclimatize when you’re moving from game to game. Any thoughts? I’m running Perfect Play rubbers fyi.
