I took that stack of plastics off completely and have not had any problems.

If you want, I will swap ya for the clear one.

JJP started shipping games with those stock to protect from the clear pooling, but the black washers also hide the pooling was there.

I removed mine and have not any issues.

I did my own lighting too. Never understood why this wasn't factory. I added a 3K warm strip behind the faces and went with factory 4K for the rest.

I used a 2 pin wire splitter and put it in between the existing connector for the backlight.
