We might have some show specials for mgc in a few weeks. If you are interest in a trade (plus or minus cash) let me know.

This post made my day. Can’t wait to see the deals Chris. Or new pin announcements that take a down payment.

agreed, i purchased as well and was surprised with what came. I still installed it, but def was what I thought it was!

Quoted from Rager170:

Hey guys,
I just wanted to give a heads up on a mod that I bought that looks nothing like pictured.. Sorry to those modders selling this but it has to be mentioned.
This "pile of gumdrops" by ULEK Store... junk. In the picture, it looks like a picture perfect pile of gumdrops. It looks so realistic that I actually thought it might be a real pile of gumdrops. Well, I received this over the weekend and the quality of print is poor. It looks faded and completely unrealistic. Granted, its only $15 but seriously, save your money. It is not a good looking mod.
Here is what it claims to look like. I will send a pic later of what I received.

They offered me to return this and me pay shipping. Not even sure its worth doing. I think im picking up my machine this weekend (if the distributor has a newer build date) and I want to see what it looks like.

Otherwise I will offer this to someone here for cheap if they want it.

Did you buy a SE or a LE?

#4105 4 years ago

All this talk about broken games makes me nervous about mine .... while I can easily navigate Stern or Bally/Williams, JJP are a bit newer to me (though I've had my share of issues already on the game but easy fixes). I unfortunately have an older playfield with pooling, but no issues yet with chipping. It's got a good 1000+ plays so far and is a nice change of pace compared to the other games.

On a side note, I have to check my settings as no one seems to get good scores (and I host tournaments, league, and held the IFPA state finals) . I have the highest score at 4.1 million and I can't even get close to that again. LOL

If you are good with Bally/Williams DMD games, you'll be fine with JJP. Don't over think it. Same game. They just snuck a motherboard and hard drive in it.

LTG : )

After a long time going back and forth, I decided to go with the LE.

Tough choice but a great one. Congrats. You will love it!

Thanks! Honestly, Im just paranoid at this point about all the clear coat issues ive been reading about. Its kind of sucking the excitement out of getting a new pin... I just have to double check the build date on the machine. My distributor said he is picking new machines up from JJP today, so im assuming they are newer...

#4110 4 years ago

I got my NIB LE 2 weeks ago. It's build date was October 19 and it has no clear coat issues at all. Relax and enjoy the moment. To use a 'cargument', you don't assume that your brand new car is immediately headed for a recall; pardon my analogy but enjoy that 'new car fragrance' for as long as you can.

If it's a new build you will be fine.

#4112 4 years ago

SE owners I would love to see someone make a colorful candy decal for the large flat plastic up in the upper left and middle area where the Wonkavator would be in the LE.Something colorful in this blank area would be nice.I wish JJP had made the backboard more colorful with a glossy finish

Great machine. You'll like it. It definitely has more light in the back of the machine when compared to the Standard. This is because of the Wonkavator assembly. To me, (this is just my opinion b/c TZ is my grail pin) No wonkavator ball lock would be like buying a Twilight Zone pin without the gumball lock.

I know! I was good at first but then found myself on the JJP/Stern Playfield Issue Thread often reading and my mind started running...

In reality, I bet the majority of people do not have issues.

Question. The blue rubber on this piece in this picture. What is its purpose?

Thats the nub that holds the large round rubber on the bottom of the VUK that the ball hits on exit to the shooter lane. We sell a hat to cover that if you don't like nubins lol

Rager, I just posted my SE on the marketplace. Your not too far from me. I live in Salem, NH. My machine looks like it just came out of the box and you would save $1000 off a new SE.

I saw the hat you make and I do like it. Personally, it would be an automatic manditory buy if it were the same colors as the movie. But I do like it and most likely will end up buying. Nice mod...

I also like your Good/Bad egg mod. Ill be looking to get that and a few others before too long.

Thanks for the reply.

Personally, I dont think you will have a hard time moving that game..

Not seeing anything in the release notes for update 1.33 to control the brightness of the Wonkatania topper.... Anyone know if they are working on it??!?

It’s really nice, but since the brightness is high and un-adjustable at this point, i have it off during attract mode and on during gameplay. the menu has a setting for this

Still waiting on CE delivery. Going on 10 months now from game announcement?

No, unfortunately, no setting option.

I use foil, which also helps the colors.

First failure today.
The upper pinball finger didn't work.
Was probably just the fuse, no damage on the fuse to see.
However, the measuring device shows no continuity on the fuse.

Quoted from Agima2000:

I shouldn't have to disassemble a brand-new $300.00 topper and modify it for something as simple as a brightness setting. Just like people shouldnt have to disassemble a $10,000 pinball machine and replace the entire playfield for "puddling clearcoat"

To me, this seems like an easy fix, unless non-dimmale LEDs were used to build them. Then they may have to do a GIOCD or LEDOCD-type daughter board that plugs in in series to rectify it if this is the case.

#4137 4 years ago

https://www.jerseyjackpinball.com/support/

There is 110% new code out for your Willy Wonka games!!! This tastes sweet!

#4138 4 years ago

Ok looks like my LE is a go for pickup tomorrow.

I was told the build date is October 29th and that was the last build date for LEs before they switched to CEs...

Now im excited!!

#4139 4 years ago

Just got notification back from Jen at JJP that the electrical design of the Wonkatania topper does NOT allow for the control of brightness. As I suspected, they failed to incorporate a circuit that would do this. (SMD LEDs by themselves are either on or off) That kinda sucks. Looks like I will be replacing it with my Casino Slot machine topper. It is WAY too bright compared to the game.

Maybe someone can build a board that plugs in series to do this? Maybe the LEDOCD guy?

EDIT: added a picture of my game showing the difference in brightness

Yeah, I bought mine a while ago, and am in the process of modifying it to go on top of the machine. I was thinking about selling it if the Wonkatania topper was dimmable.

Here's my slot topper. it color-changes.

I'm seriously considering installing the additional left post and then bringing the right outline posts down all the way in an effort to reduce the amount of balls lost to either side... Normally I wouldn't do this but I really want to get deeper in the game and best I can do to date is 3million... Anyone else taken those measures?

Thanks,
Jeff

#4143 4 years ago

I wonder if layering automotive window tint between the led chassis and acrylic sandwich face would do the trick?

Either 20% or limo 5%?

Yes, that is awesome! I saw a picture of that a while back and thought it was a Laseriffic topper and searched high and low. Then realized it was a slot topper.

That is better than any of the toppers out there. Im hoping Laseriffic does something just like that.

That score is within the top 10 scores on pinside...

In all seriousness, instead of permanently modding your game like that. Why not block off the outlanes to see progression if thats what you want to see?

#4147 4 years ago
Quoted from jeffro01:

I'm seriously considering installing the additional left

Unless your game is on location to earn money, this post should be installed in order to balance the LH to RH outlane drain percentage. screw it into the lower of the two holes, and move the small rubber ring from in/outlane divider to over to it. This will balance the outlane drains to nearly 50%.

I believe this has been widely accepted on this Wonka thread....

I might try that. This topper is way too nice to replace with another. I doesn't really bother me being that bright but they're is a topper brightness in the game... Weird

I can always unplug it too but cmon jjp.
