Quoted from romulusx:

I played SternJP at Tappers in Indianapolis, free plug for Bud.
Anyway I dropped 5 bucks real quick and seemed like a lot of fun.
Iā€™m thinking maybe in the near future if I can find one with a good playfield

Premiums were all ok I believe... it was the first run of pros that had Pooling /clear issues.

#3552 4 years ago
Quoted from Blackzarak:

In all honesty from my current pin collection Wonka is the pin that keeps me coming back for more and I enjoy it very much if anything I would consider selling it only to get a LE just because I like it that much. Sterns new Jp is good which I own as well but for some reason wonkas light show, shots, code design makes it great dont get me wrong sterns jp is really good as well but doesnt have that factor for me personally. Please dont bash on my opinion

This is a Wonka thread. Anyone bashing your opinion here is hanging out in the wrong place and probably trolling. For some reason, Wonka triggered a lot of deeply insecure keyboard warriors here.

Not exactly .... I just got a JP pro with the new playfield and it got a massive chip on game 15 UGH!

As for the compare JP to Wonka, its apples to oranges. They play so differently and both are really a lot of fun. I think if I had a choice to only keep one, it would be Wonka.

Where at? In front of the upper flipper at the post?

Sorry about the chip on the JP playfield.I remember when I saw the pooling and chip on my
first Wonka SE I felt sick over it.I felt I was being punished for breaking my rule of ever buying too
quickly.Fortunely my distro stepped up and replaced with a second run Wonka

#3556 4 years ago

Not to derail the Wonka thread, but here's the pic. To keep with the theme of Wonka, I have not had any playfield chipping on my LE. There is some pooling but the playfield has held up so far with quite a few hundred games on it. I totally stink at the game as my high score is only 4.1M

4.1 is not a bad score try to rack up more Wonka bars and get those extra balls as soon as you see them pop up!

I Officially Joined the Club Today. It arrived this morning! I Purchased a HUO LE from a pinsider. Mine has a build date of July 2019. #163 It took me about 10 games to crack It wide open. I finally did it! Check out the Score on the PIC

Such a beauty of a game.
I hope it wins the game of the year award.

#3561 4 years ago

Nice looking topper, it even looks better than the CE topper IMO. I like the Wonkatania backdrop. Bought.

#3562 4 years ago

Topper has a animated waterfall effect. ..hmm I'd like to see that ...

Bought mine as well. Even if I don't install it, I'm glad to have if to future needs, maybe if I ever sell the game.

#3564 4 years ago

Also bought the topper and also agree that it looks better than the topper on the CE.

#3571 4 years ago

Just ordered the new JJP topper for my LE. Looks like a winner. Wonder what the backstory is on why it is being produced/sold?
Whatever the reason, it seems like a good move by JJP to do so.

As a CE owner, Iā€™m quite a bit pissed at this new topper for SE/LE... THIS is what should have been on the CE, what is JJP thinking...???? IMHO, JJP should be shipping one of these to every CE buyer at no charge.

Maybe a trade is in order

#3578 4 years ago

I would trade. I'm not sold on the new topper yet. Is it interactive at all? Or is it just 3 rows of lights flashing for the water fall effect all of the time? I think the CE topper looks better and is a little 3D ish.

Silly question perhaps but where are the play field magnets (minus the one I can see below the diverter) and in what modes are they active?

Thanks,
Jeff

Thereā€™s three on middle of playfield where the cool little eraser size lights are,you light em up and they will flash when active.Dont expect Addams Family or Dialed In type movement

#3581 4 years ago

I finally got my Wonka CE on Monday. Itā€™s so fun and addictive!

My Guess is this was what Was supposed to be on the CE from the start and for what ever reason they opted to not include it? Even states it on the original comparison flyer.

Actually theres 6 in middle of the playfield where the clusters of circle lights are... one in between each circle. They are active alot and are always messing with the ball

#3584 4 years ago

That new topper isn't that great and no reason the ce folks sld be upset as both toppers are just ok. I'm not a topper person and dont get the big deal with them as they serve no purpose except for looking at when your not playing.

So I'm having a weird problem. I was playing Willy Wonka and my three-year-old decided to turn it off. Then I went to go turn it on again and suddenly it's not turning on now. I've wiggled the power cord, checked fuses behind the back glass, and there appear to be LEDs on the PCB turning on behind the back glass. When I press the power switch I can hear the faint hum, but the playfield does not turn on nor does the LCD. Wondering what could have gone wrong and if you guys have any suggestions.

Common problem. You have to jump two pins on the motherboard with a screwdriver to get it to come back.
PinMonk sells a nice switch kit to make this easier in the future:

See the POTC thread for details on the pins to jump.

No problem! It happened to me a couple months ago and it was heart-stopping when it did.

So just to confirm before I blow something up, I found an old post by LTG in another thread on how to reset. He mentions a pin location that does not quite match what I have on my motherboard by label, but it looks like it is the right thing. Can anyone confirm that I need to short the two pins ( while the machine is powered up ) above the blank one on the COMA connection shown in this image? For reference it is in the bottom right of the motherboard inside the PC panel.
Thanks!

#3597 4 years ago
Quoted from zaphX:

Interesting that he has ANOTHER flavor of the motherboard. The CMOS clear switch is next to the top and to the left of the F_PANEL block instead of below it like on yours.

EDIT: I'm 99% sure this board is a H310M-A 2.0, and that means that starting with Wonka, JJP has moved or is beginning to move to boards with the intel H310 chipset, which makes sense as the H110 chipset is now almost 5 years old and the H310 was released only last year. Probably has to do with availability as the H110 motherboards are likely drying up in quantity.

I keep getting my tilt bob switch stuck to open. If I move it a bit it will reset. Anything I can do or adjust to keep this from happening? Thanks

Make it more sensitive so you get a tilt warning in-game every now and again to keep the advisory message at bay is about all you can do.
