Since you just posted @trumpanche, let me say that your Wonka's Factory gate is incredible. It's totally changed the game (for the better!) It has greatly reduced the STM drains from the pops, which has allowed me to see more of the game.

I have a Wonka and TS4, enjoy them both tremendously and often wonder what Wonka would be like with HotRails...

I was initially against these out of principle (respect to the original design) but the longer I own it the closer I am to buying lol. I don’t mind the odd unfair drain, but when you’re in multiball and the ball save timer is on, then it drains three balls in a row, I get the sh!ts hahaaaa.
Quoted from jackd104:Also check the screws holding the coil that controls the ball release to the back of the Wonkavator assembly. They’re often loose and could cause something like that.
Thanks. Will give that a look. I tried to adjust the settings and it didn't work. Possibly something is loose.

Is that a movie prop or just something someone made? Cool either way.

I felt the same way, but on my perfectly leveled game, I was getting drains from the pops about 30% of the time. It was pure death. I could have backed the tilt way off and done a lot more nudging, but (for me) this gate makes the game more enjoyable. Don't tell Pat Lawlor.

I want it.
Just wondering everyone’s setup, as I’m relatively new to Wonka and finding it a fine line. I’m at 6.75deg pitch and flipper power is up +3 from default (ie 21 left and 20 right). It still feels on the slow and floaty side, I’m wanting to go up to maybe 6.9deg but would probably have to power the flippers up even more. Is that a bad thing?
I think my main issue is I have a few Sterns in the lineup so it becomes harder to acclimatize when you’re moving from game to game. Any thoughts? I’m running Perfect Play rubbers fyi.
Quoted from Good-Times:I think my main issue is I have a few Sterns in the lineup so it becomes harder to acclimatize when you’re moving from game to game. Any thoughts?
Think of it this way: Would you want your Stern flippers turned up to max? Probably not, because they would be "too strong". But "too strong" is just an opinion. Really, it's a matter of knowing how much strength the flippers need to make the shot, and how much more above and beyond would you like to go past that. I agree it feels sad to play a JJP when you expect (and think you love) snappy Stern flippers. But when you realize that sometimes less is more, you may dial down the power here and there. I think of my Wonka as a flowy, magical "move the ball around" pin. When I play other pins (like Metallica and BK SOR) I really want that ball moving fast through the playfield. "Strong" and "Medium" power settings are both great in the appropriate games!

I just received mine yesterday in the mail and installed it last night, What a difference ! My kids enjoyed the game before, but hated the sdtm after entering the pop bumpers. both my daughters 8 and 12 play some pinball every night, with stranger things being ones favorite and the younger one loves willy wonka. They both commented last night that willy was better to play with the gate installed. (neither of them has the ability to nudge the machine as they are twigs). Great mod !
Thanks so much for taking the time to provide feedback! I'm very glad your family is enjoying the game even more

Quoted from NightTrain:I'm still having issues with my Wonka LE after the 2.01 update (although I don't think it's related).
Sometimes it will kick 2 balls and even try to kick 3 balls into the trough. Seems to happen on multiball startup.
Also the flippers will die and the ball will end when there are still 2 balls in multiball.
Slugworth multiball kicks out 5 balls now.....
I check the trough opto boards and the plugs are all nice and tight. The shooter lane switch works fine and registers in test mode.
Any ideas?
I'm having the same issues. I get the trough jam switch triggered even though the trough is fine. #6 I believe.
Quoted from rrosenhouse:Go into switch test and make sure all the optos on the trough board are registering correctly. Some have has success reflowing the connection on the trough boards.
Can I do this with a normal soldering iron? I would rather not buy a new board, I believe I am out of warranty.
My trough board was already replaced, it was one of the builds that came faulty from the factory. The new board worked fine for 2+ years, until now.
Thanks in advance for the help.
There's enough going on with the playfield that mirror blades actually look pretty good in this one too.
Quoted from mostater:There was one with an inside a brick factory look. Not sure who sold it though.
That was Tilt Graphics.

Wonka is a floatier game I feel. A lot of that has to do with the white rubberes.

Such a great pin. All I can afford is the base model but anyone leaving the club I have a loaded Houdini to trade toward one.

Those are some of the most appropriate art blades I've seen on a pin. I'm not generally a fan of most but those click.

Thanks! I thought the same when I got them on. They really bring the feel of being inside a factory to the machine.

LTG still the best support! Thanks so much.
Put up 17M with two balls remaining last night. Finished with 17.6M Ugh. So frustrating when it kicks your a$$ like that!
Still love this game though!

Switch ordered, but also noticed the top pop bumper started to fire sporadically when flipping (seems to be just right flipper). Any guidance on most common issues that might cause this?

Adjust the leaf blade switch for it below the playfield.
Turn the game off. Lift playfield up and lean back. See the leaf blade switch ? The long one with the plastic spoon is pushed by a plastic rod coming down from the pop bumper skirt. This plastic spoon should be clean, ( not worn on older games ) well centered on the rod, just resting on it, not pushing it up. The shorter lower leaf blade switch should be close enough so the slightest ball hit triggers it yet vibration doesn't set it off. A little adjusting/tweaking, and you'll be fine.
Then call jjp and tell them all you want for Christmas is LTG : ) Back !

This was the exact issue. Thanks LTG and updated my Xmas list for you!
I just moved my Wonka LE under a light fixture because it's the only game I have with invisiglass. The reflection of the light makes it really hard to play. I feel like it's not serving its purpose.

Consider it "glare reduction glass", not "glare elimination glass". It helps a lot, but it's still not actually invisible.
Man, got to Wonka's Office last night as it has been a while. What a great mode. Didnt win but was just so exciting to play. Amazing light show.
Speaking of which, how exactly does that mode get started?

Gotta get 3 golden tickets, for starters. That's always been the hardest part for me

2nd Golden ticket.
3rd is a candy stash award, 4th is Most Secret Machine, 5th is Pure Imagination.

Thanks, I was going to say, pretty sure I only had 2 tickets.
So you only need two golden tickets and it starts by hitting the saucer (if I remember correctly)?
