Has anyone installed plastic protectors from mezelmods? They have two options, clear or colored. Would like to see pic if anyone has these on a game, thanks in advance!

Like anything else, it's a matter of personal preference. I used the colored plastics because I think they added to the overall look of the game. I feel that they blend in very well with the game's amazing, colorful art work.

Can someone explain these numbers here to me? I understand the ramps increase the number and then the ? collects a random award. But what about those lolipops? Also, what does it have to do with the lit lolipop on the lower left inlane?

[quoted image]

The lollipops on the inlanes are for candy jar, every time the ball heads for one, flip until it's unlit - crossing the inlane switch will light it. Increasing candy jar value boosts spinner rips.

The numbers under the captive ball are the levels up to the random award. Shooting ramps raises them, and they decay back down when you stop.

There is a sign that tells you this - and yes I didn't see it either at first!

Quoted from naf_llabnip:

robbyirl5 , I sincerely hope this is not annoying for you but I have to ask: are you THE Robby McGehee? As in THE Indy 500 rookie of the year? If so, I don't follow the sport closely like I used to, but I was a fan in the stands many times in Texas when IRL raced there in late 90s and early 2000s, and I remember one Mr. Robby McGehee battling at the front in some races (confess I was a Jeff Ward fan coming from a moto-X background, but I was a big fan of all the insane guys strapping themselves into those machines for my entertainment). Those cars were so fast in person that they were literally a blur going by. Sorry off topic here, and I hope this question is not bothersome, I'll delete this post if so.

Not bothersome at all! That was me in a previous life (last Indy was in 2004), now I’m just an old guy with 11-year old triplets and a massive addiction to pinball, LOL. Jeff Ward was awesome and that race in Texas was with Scott Sharp. I still say he moved up on me.

I understand that. I'm wonder does anything happen when I hit the captive ball and it's at a 3? I'm always expecting 3 pieces of candy to go in the jar.

Or if I hit it before it gets to the ?, then I get nothing?

So if I understand you correctly, rolling over an unlit lollipop inlane and the lighting it up, adds a candy piece to the jar? Pieces of candy increase spinner value? What happens if I roll over a lit lollipop inlane?

I think what happens is your captive ball award rotates 3 slots. It's a way to select what the captive ball award is before you hit the saucer.

Correct. AFAIK nothing happens if you roll over a lit lollipop lane.

It's (the numbered captive ball insert) literally just a value (points) indicator... 1 being least valuable

I will use full restraint to keep this from turning into an Indy Racing League forum, but everybody: Robby was a danged beast on the track, the race in Texas in 2000 was an A-mazing, those last laps had the crowd on their feet yelling and screaming watching that battle to the end that was just epic (my brother and dad were at the race, was my dad's last sports event he attended before passing away but he loved it, still have a great family memory from that largely due to the show Robby and Scott Sharp put on those last laps). Anyway, sounds like an incredible and blessed life from racing at the highest levels to family with triplets and a Wonka machine, very cool the diverse folks that this hobby brings

Huge IRL and CART fan here!

How very cool to know I share a pinball passion with a driver in my favorite sport!

Short of the Indy500, Texas is without a doubt the most “edge of my seat” race of the season! I can only imagine the “pucker factor” when behind the wheel as a driver! You have my utmost respect Robby!!!

I searched YouTube for the video of the 2000 Texas race and it looks like equipment issues resulted in Robby’s DNF. They mentioned an Indy lights race where Scott sharp edged Robby by fractions of a second in June of that year. Is that the race you’re talking about? I’d like to watch it if available.

Sorry for perpetuating the Indy car lovefest, but it’s also a passion of mine.

Nice game! I've gotten 4 tickets, but not five yet. I need to work on getting the wonkavator golden ticket first or early in the game. The wife got to Pure Imagination a few weeks ago and it was a joy to watch. Can't wait to get there myself!

Hi Guys and Gals
This is my first post here so I hope I am doing this correctly?.
This morning my Wonkavision Camera cracked at the base. I believe this is a common thing?.
Any suggestions in regards to being able to mend it enough to keep playing?. I am guessing that it will be difficult to replace the camera due to the wiring needing to be fed through the camera?.

Yeah really cool right?! June of 2000 was the crazy finish I was talking about, race was the Casino Magic 500. Every fan in the stands was going nuts I assure you!

The camera isn't actually there is it? I think it's on the backbox, below the monitor.

Its common for pinball. Put a drop of super glue gel in the crack and press it back into place. Should hold forever.

Gets exciting at about 2:03

It was an IRL race, first (of many) really close finishes on super speedway.

Thanks guys, humbled by your comments. As they used to say in racing, keep the shiny side up!

WWCE #102 in the house! Just picked up NIB yesterday and I think I have a few issues out of box...

1. Left loop switch is not responding
2. G from GUM switch is not responding
3. Wonkavator divertor is not working. I have noticed when ball search happens, the diverter will open/close. However, when super lock is lit and screen call outs, I hit the shot and the ball just rolls around to the bumpers. The best I can tell is it does not open during gameplay.
4. When I fire up my pin or open/close the coin door, the Wonkavator VUK clicks 5-6x like it’s trying to shoot a ball up - also notice it is active on the matrix switch pic.

#3 is the biggest downer out of box as this is a critical part of the game . I’ll reach out to JJP support Monday, just looking if there are any fixes or suggested actions I can try from the community over the weekend... Sorry if these items have been asked before!

Check connector J200 on the I O board (white wires) - my guess is that the harness got pulled a bit and pin 8 isn’t making good contact (connector is cocked) - monitor is held in place by magnets on the top corners. Pull it forward and check the three connectors on the right edge of the I O board. You’re missing that row on the matrix.

Thanks! I pushed in any of the connectors that looked loose, no more clicking on start up, thanks! Am I still missing something on the row?

Looks like those 2 switches are still bad?

25M? Dayyumm! Nice score!

I may start a thread on all of Wonka’s special pinball “moments”. Here’s what I can think of:

WonkaTania Mania
Oompah Loompah Odyssey
Start of Wonkavator MB
Wonka’s office light and LCD show

Plus an honorable mention for when you get into those candy colored computer modes when the candy is falling from the LCD screen and the game just lights up.

What else is there? And please, no spoilers. Please don’t describe too much on modes found later in the game. Just acknowledge existence, without too much description.

Great Game!! Epic ending!! Crazy
5x playfield and super spinner is BIG Money!
I loved the double gobstopper jackpot. Which ended up getting you the Golden Ticket. That was HUGE!!
Great MSM also!!

I had a problem with Wonkavator Golden ticket at first also. I had to change my style of play. Because of the shots required. I had to slow it down and do a lot of cradling. On stage 3 , you have to alternate with shoot a jackpot and then captive and repeat....... then the shots rotate and make you hit a hard shot, which means you most likely have to break up your cradle.
That captive ball shot makes it tough!!

This game is awesome!!

#7687 3 years ago

Argh!

This game had a chance to be EPIC! I had all kinds of shit going on in tandem with Wonkavator MB, and I was jamming. I was pretty sure id nailed a ball into the Gob, but the MB was mayhem. And then a couple balls drained and all of a sudden I had no balls, but the game was clearly still going. I frantically searched the playfield. Was one stuck somewhere? All my timers went to zero. All my momentum gone.

I had, in fact, jammed two balls into the Gob, and they were both stuck at the Vuk. I opened the coin door and manually kicked the first ball up to shooter lane, and resumed play, but at that point I kind of forgot where I was. Drained soon after.

Still had a couple balls left, and played OK. It was confusing, because I was playing through multiple factory tour modes for the second time but hadn’t yet fished everything once. After playing about 17 factory modes (im including the multipliers here) I finally managed to to complete the factory tour for second gold ticket. I was in the middle of my second 5 way kid MB, and Wonka’s office was waiting for me.

I drained 4 balls simultaneously and ended the game about 5 seconds after lighting the second ticket.

Argh!

Got 1.2M in bonus on last ball. Sweet.

Wonka is a pretty decent game. I can never fully enjoy it because JJP changed the name of “brat MB” to “kid MB” which is an unforgivable sin. That and making the entire game revolve around collecting Wonka Bars. I mean, really? Wonka Bars??

It's really about collecting Kid jackpots. Wonka bars are a side quest but it's all about getting the kid jackpots while also working the gobstopper, factory and wonkavator goals.

Finally got 3rd Golden Ticket on factory settings! 8 million! Man the challenge and strategy of this game keeps the family coming back for more. Already played most of the day today! Getting Gobstopper and Wonkavator ticket, especially gobstopper, seems really very hard on factory.

#7692 3 years ago

Question, for 3rd ticket I guess there is no wizard mode but you get the 100 Wonka bar bonus? Would be nice if a mini-wizard came in next code update

Everyone is running code 1.33, right?

I got 3 Golden Tickets yesterday, but funny thing is, it wasn't a super high scoring game, like about 2mil.

Multiballs on this game are indeed maddening, but so fun.

Question -- What's super jackpot on Oompa Loompa Odyssey? I always get down to 1 jackpot left on the Wonkavision, but the timer runs out or I drain the 2nd ball. I love that mode, so great.
