Here are some pictures of my LOTR. I know in the pictures it is hard to see but the legs, side rails, and lock down bar have been painted gold and could use a new coat especially around the flipper buttons.

Ill try to give you a rundown of the mods on it:
Leds (CT-color matched) in the inserts - except clear inserts (they were too bright)
Leds (CT) in select GI- some green in shire areas and red/orange in mordor area
Cliffys protectors - wood looks good underneath them
Pinballlife high power flipper coils

Army of the dead figures on top of the pinbits kit, each lit by a 5mm led

2 ring wraiths added on top of the sword ramp with 2 red 5mm leds shining on them

backbox led flasher kit (behind the eye of mordor)
I just replaced the flipper coil sleeves and coils, balls and rubbers approx. 6 months ago.
I know what you mean about the "if I was closer" thing. My family (wife and three girls age 9, 7, 5) are actually going on an east coast trip and staying mostly in Dover, PA where my father in law grew up. Don't think my TOM will fit in the luggage rack.
