Just left this Feedback for a fellow Pinsider...what a disappointing situation.

Well...what can I say a month or more ago, we had a deal for my buddy's very nice Nip-it along with a Moon Patrol he was selling. All was good. You advised that you wouldn't do Paypal due to previous problems with them. I was OK with that. You even sent me pictures showing how you'd like me to cardboard and shrinkwrap the game for your carrier to pickup. You knew my buddy was in a tight spot needing cash pretty quickly before his Willy Wonka was delivered. I took a quick look at your feedback and looked through the first couple pages and all was positive. I was good.

Here we are a month later. No Money Orders that you promised a number of times had been mailed. I asked you multiple, multiple times for your phone number so we could discuss and gave you my number. Neither happened. About every 5th message or so from me asking for an update you would send a cryptic message saying you'd been busy but all was good and the funds were "in the mail". Finally after a month of this pretty much one sided conversation, you advised that you would go to Western Union and figure out how to send money to me. If you'd already sent Money Orders not sure why you would send payment via Western Union. You promised this would be done a couple days ago. I sent you three more messages last night and today saying that if we didn't talk or have meaningful communication by 8:00 PM EST tonight, that I would move on and relist and modify my feedback.

About halfway through this odyssey I checked your feedback a little further and found one long negative post and the scenario is exactly like mine. Why you strung me along all this time, I'll never know. This is the first bad experience I've had on Pinside after well over a hundred transactions. Very disappointing.

I will be relisting the Nip-it that you were so thrilled to have the chance to buy. I can't believe I let this go on this long. I've talked to a couple other Pinsiders and was told to move on weeks ago. But you kept stringing me along and I guess I was believing that you would live up to your commitment. Lesson learned.

OK well just check mark the thread & close it if that's all the info we're gonna get

    #3 1 year ago

Kind of a pointless thread without a name.

Was starting off as just a rant, but I understand your comment

It sounds like he just wasn't that into you.

Good looking game. I’m sure you’ll find a real buyer.

If that was the case I’m cool with that, but why do some people just like to keep stringing you along until you cry uncle. I read about flakes all the time on Pinside but hasn’t experienced it myself. Like I said, lesson learned. Thanks for letting me me blow off some steam.

Every game I've tried to buy here except one have turned into auctions. I hate that.

List your price and stick to it.

    #10 1 year ago

Sorry man, that is really frustrating. You want to be accommodating to buyers (and I have occasionally been the “oh man the bank is closed today!” Buyer), but that is a pretty ridiculous stringing along story. Hope it sells to another solid buyer!

To the pinball buyer last Friday night outside the north side movie theater. You were wearing pleated jeans and a yellow shirt. I was the Pinside seller holding the door open for you and your friends.

You said I was nice and you would like to buy from me sometime. I have a Scared Stiff that I would like to sell you at a price that's VERY HARD to beat. Anyway, call me at 555-555-5555. If you send me your number, I'll provide plenty of pictures and enlarge any shots you like.

    Waiting for your call,

Oops, sorry, thought this was the Pinside personals forum.

In all seriousness, feel for the OP. Nothing worse than somebody tying up something you're trying to sell with no intention of purchasing.

    Good luck with new sale.

The hell with shipping a game. Cash on the MF glass and first come first serve unless you know and trust the buyer.

    #18 1 year ago

It's a lesson we all have learned at one point or another. I held a game for a month and missed many sales opportunities because I thought I was being a nice guy, and then finally after a emailing over and over with no response I moved on. Now its cash on glass, or deposit within 24 hours or I move on. It is what it is, people get busy and life takes priority over pinball purchases.

This story sounds eerily familiar...I wonder if it's the same guy with a different pinside account.

Could be. My “buyer” was Canadian also. One reason why I let it go on for a while. Have sold games to our neighbors up north before but always for pickup and cash on the glass. I let this one get away from me. Thanks for the comments. Much appreciated.

I only say that because the story, users forum history, location and game collection are eerily similar.

    I could be completely wrong.

Gawd I'm glad I'm DONE buying used pins. Can't trust anyone anymore on either seller or buyer side. "I'll buy it" is a virtual handshake. The only thing we truly ever own is our word and this crap of turning a "for sale" ad into a behind the scenes auction is bullshit. If I ran this site and was notified a user pulled that I'd drop the ban hammer on em. Leave your fishing tactics to Craigslist or eBay.

I had the exact same exerperience with this Pinsider, he seems to have a hard time telling the truth!I have a 60 message PM string of lies and excuses saved from this guy when I was selling my IMDN.. valuable lesson learned on my end as I will never let someone string me along like this again! On a side note I left this Pinsider negative feedback (never had to do this before) and he left feedback under my feedback making it look like I was the liar.. hey AutoDLR I have all your PM’s saved so don’t even go there dude, you know what you did!

    #26 1 year ago

Has this guy gone through with any of these transactions??

    #27 1 year ago

He did the same thing to me about 6 months ago.

    #28 1 year ago

Seems when taking other peoples money; he's quick to follow thru.
When giving up money; it's when he feels like it.
    Sad. Just Sad.

Agreed. That’s what threw me off. All of the positive feedback posts. Didn’t look deep enough.

Well, what say you autodlr ? Looks like you’ve done this a few times...im sure they are lying though and you absolutely didn’t do anything wrong...pfft. One of the guys even had brain cancer, and autoDLR just kept stringing him along. What absolute scum.

WAH WAH WAIT a SEC...hold up.

I'm all for tarring and feathering a guy for not holding up his end, but let's not say something crazy like "One of the guys even had brain cancer" as if we all personally know everyone else's business... Being a dick is being a dick, regardless of if he knew that or NOT. It doesn't make it any more or less excusable either way.
