Still looking for an early production Captain Fantastic that has the reverse cabinet color scheme, “over the top” no star backglass, playfield with orange rollover inserts, white special insert and finally factory signed on bottom right side of playfield with D. Christensen. Only looking for an original, no repro. If you have one of these, let’s talk!!!

Never saw one of those but checked out on IPDB and it is as you say so wonder how many of those survived? Good luck on your search and would love to see pictures if you land one!

Same here Dave, good luck!

Thanks Tom, I know this is going to be a tough one to locate but it is the season for giving so hope some will be willing to give one up!

Yes it will. In all my years ago of scrounging through Op's warehouses (as you have done) I ran across a couple "no stars" BG's but never an
"Over the top" version. From IPDB you're looking for 1001 to maybe 1087 serial number, 87 out of a 16,155 run! That's almost half as likely as finding an EM Evel Knievel based on numbers. But I wish you luck!

Tom, you are probably right as I have never seen an over-the-top glass in person either, only pictures of one but I’ll beat there are a few out there hanging on walls here in the US!

You never know. In 1986 I found a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback GT with a factory 289 HP engine (they only made 472 of these because everyone wanted the new 390 ci big block engine which handled like a dog) just 15 miles from my home for $1K. So you never know.
