I've seen over the years these have been repro'd by various manufacturers, however searching at most of the usual suspects the links state "Sold out/Out of Stock". I've found one guy that makes a new version in Australia but it looks like it will take upwards of a month until it arrives in. Does anyone know of anyone here in the US that has readily available new Ball Trough Proximity PCB and Sensor kits to fix the annoying Switch 26 error.
I've got an aftermarket Pinball Lizard Trough Proximity PCB in my game and it's shot..not working and they are no longer in biz.

Any leads are greatly appreciated as I'm ready to purchase.

I have both original boards, fully working.

#3 4 years ago

I might have one if you still need one. LMK

I could use one also. Mine has had that error since I got it. I’m not even sure of or how it changes gameplay?

I believe it disables the powerball feature of the game?

Maybe order the AU one in the mean time.

His stuff looks pretty good.

Mine shows the error but the powerball still works. I M just curious exactly what you lose by having this error.

So are you saying that you have the switch 26 error but when you play a game and the powerball is the first ball in the trough and it gets put into the shooter lane the game says "powerball" and starts the powerball mode? If it doesn't (and it shouldn't) then that's what would be fixed by correcting the switch 26 error (either repairing or replacing the sensor board).

It's possible that you have the switch 26 error, the game doesn't recognize the powerball in the trough/shooter lane but when the powerball goes into the subway then it gets recognized correctly, like it would if it were coming from the gumball machine.

With a switch 26 error, the game shouldn't recognize the powerball when it's in the trough.

What you just described is what my game is doing. If I get the powerball sometimes I have to hit the subway or slot to get it to recognize it’s the powerball. So my question is does this board working correctly fix my problem or is it something else?

#10 4 years ago

That board working correctly fixes that problem. When the powerball is in the trough and the board isn't working then it doesn't recognize the powerball and won't start the powerball mode until the powerball is sensed in the subway. Switch 26 is the sensor board and without it working, your game won't properly recognize the powerball in the trough.

Once you fix it, and the switch 26 error is fixed, your game will work the way it's supposed to.

Sometimes I just need to pull the connector off and put it back on (I think it's a two wire connector if I remember correctly) and it will start registering correctly again. I keep hoping that Great Lakes Modular will come back and make the replacement boards for it as they were an improved design that seemed to permanently fix this issue. Unfortunately, he's been gone for a couple of years and while his website is still active, I'm guessing he's not coming back...

Thanks Blitz, just did the order - !

Bought mine from Australia, took about 2 weeks to arrive, works great..

#15 4 years ago

Would it not be cheaper to have the original fixed? It’s always nice to keep the originals in place if possible. $100 for the repro vs who knows how much to repair the original?

#16 4 years ago

Try replacing the small wire harness cable before replacing the board. I think there are some sites that sell a replacement harness. That alleviated the problem with mine.

spares on board never hurts in my world
