I am just throwing this out there since it is looking more and more likely that Mayfair is gone. I will make up some decals for now but does anyone have an extra spinner laying around? Or maybe know anywhere else to get either a repro or NOS?

Thanks!

#3 10 years ago

Sorry, should have been more specific. I wanted the surfer on it. I have a soccer spinner in there now.

Mayfair had nos surfer spinners 2 years ago.

Yeah, and it seems like they were the only ones. Looks like their site has been down a while and people are having a hard time getting hold of them. Bummer too, because the local sign company wants as much for decals as Mayfair sold the spinner for.

OP,

If you are into the idea of repainting the spinner yourself, I have masks I created in Adobe Illustrator I can pass on to you.

Takes a little time, but much more rewarding then a decal.

That would be great! I saw that when I was looking through old posts, great work.

That looks great! Exactly what I was going to do with the scans from kangourou! Would you share them with me also? I have the mask material and plotter ready to go, just need the files!

As requested, here are the colors I used:

All are PPG system paints that I already had on the shelf, but are standard color mixes, so should be available in small quantities from your local job shop.

Light Blue - DBC-11770

Rescue Red - DBC-73787

Carara Weiss (White) - DBC-93182

Clear - DCU2002 with DCX61 catalyst

All paints and clears reduced with DT8xx (xx is temp range) series reducer.

Spinner cured in a bake box at 200 degrees for 2 hours.

cheers,

rody

I would be interested in those masks if still available...
