Quoted from northvibe:found a broken 83 chexx and fixed it The chexx is well worth the price.
I agree 100% ... you cant go wrong as I just did this myself and have no regrets at all.

Anyone ever have issues with the boo sound not working as it should?
Is there a chip I can reset? I have the chexx version.
Quoted from northvibe:When you start a new game, the boo button will skip the anthem
That works ... I just get a mess of a noise after that .... I bet it is the cable because my main light is not working either ... I really haven't dug into the game yet.
Quoted from northvibe:Also, I went with boston pinballs led score board...expensive but oh so nice.
Very tempted myself
Did the chexx also have 4 short stick players a 1 long stick player per team?....Mine has the opposite.
If this is the case and I buy a new set is there any value to the original USA / Russa players?
Are certain player #s in more demand?
So my scoreboard is only showing a 0 for each team ( chexx ) and no period lights.
has anyone had this issue? Any techs work on chexx boards?
Quoted from northvibe:they are shying away from original 83' boards
I hope not because they have mine as I type.....
Quoted from ReplayRyan:ICE hasn't done full repairs on the original boards in a long time. Some of the chips on there have been NLA.
Not true ... I had mine done recently
Quoted from ReplayRyan:but more often than not the chips are bad (especially sound) and thus the board can not be fully repaired.
They fixed my BOO and a few other small issues
Quoted from catboxer:Just a bunch of 16pin ICs that can be shotgunned
Do you know anyone who offers this service?
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:It’s just the scoreboards not working
I just bought one of the kits from Boston Pinball .... Worth every penny
Quoted from zimmer62:If I could add a logo to the top without flipping and painting that would be ideal, but I feel like a logo sticker might catch the puck when sliding over the edges.
You could have whatever you wanted digitally printed on vinyl by most any sign shop ... I guess you could have it laminated while your at it as well.
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:What about strong two sided tape that could hold a beer? Any recommendations?

I work with this tape daily .... It will do the job.

Strong fishing line will do the trick to remove / any excess you can roll of with thumb .... If it were me I would do 2 strips of tape 1 on top and 1 on bottom.
You may need to double up on tape. You could add some silicone to middle if you like (Dont let touch tape) all is removable ... (Tape alone is fine ... Press it hard to get a full bond)
Maybe do a test before you attach to game .... Could tape two similar materials together holding a full beer bottle just get an idea of amount of tape you feel comfortable using or not using.
