    Quoted from poppapin:

Didn't you also have to remove the players? Seems like goalie getting hungup somewhere. BTW, I know what you mean about driving in Old City! Same as Germantown Ave.

At first I tried not to, but i couldn't contort my hand enough to reach the collar for the Boo button so they all came off. Right now it is just the choppy goalie and the ice installed so I can get back under there and take a few pics, but I really can't feel or see anything different from the normal goalie.

I went to La Salle, so I'm familiar with that chunk of Germantown.

I was just in your next of the woods earlier today. Made a stop at the Learning Express!

Popped the ice off again and manually slid the "bad" mechanism and it slides nice and smooth like the other side. I did notice that the goal that is from the side that is having trouble has this tacky blue stuff on the slot where it rests on the post behind the puck chute.

I had to button the machine back up because the kids were in need of yet another thing to do.

One thing I noticed (but is replicated on the other smooth side so wtf?), was that the channel in the ice the post slides in had a scalloped look/feel to it. With quite fine sandpaper I lightly sanded the inside of the channel a bit. You can still feel the bumps when moving slower than slap the goalie to the other post speeds, but it is not quite as pronounced.

Are the team logos easy enough to remove from the players without damaging the paint? I really don't like the way they look, especially the Flyers' goalie (which happens to be the problem child - go figure) because it has taken a couple of shots to the chest, it's in this weird cracked, but won't fall off state.

Wonder if it is possible to get logo sticker sheets from Playmobil for their NHL sets...

We are attempting to build a jumbotron/replay system using a raspberry pi to attach to the table. Does anyone know where we can intercept a signal that the game is over? Game start will be detected by splicing into the start/boo buttons. The owner's manual mentions dispensing tickets at the end of the game, and our idea would be to tap into where a ticket dispensing device connects. Does anyone know where a ticket dispenser would attach to the motherboard?

The ticket dispenser hookup is J4 pins 2 and 3.

Anyone interested in a used super Chexx original ice surface from the 90’s? I haven’t really cleaned it, so I don’t know if the yellowing or scuffs can come out. It’s cracked by one goalie spot, but it played fine with tape. It’s obviously before “ICE” started slapping their logo and website on the surface in the later years.

I’m looking for $50 plus shipping cost. PM me.

Just a thought ... reach out to a local vendor/distributor and ask where you can find one on location. Most vendors have them on location.

Also, a good place to check is at local ice rinks as Chexx are common in places where ice hockey is played (problem is they're prob closed).

25 years ago I could always find one to play at Chuck E. Cheese franchises.

Joined the club today. Made in late 2000 from what I can tell. Needed new goalies as the base on both sides was split in half. I knew that but today I learned it has one gearbox with stripped gears and will need a few new display gels. The lower display on one side is also out, so have to figure that out.

A display on my project Super Chexx is out. I found D1 broken in half and replaced it, but it didn’t fix the issue. I’d rather fix it than spend $60 on a new one if possible.

    #2363 3 years ago

What's my 1/8/20 build super chex with split base worth to someone? 50 plays if that.
For those wondering ...( no one to play against.)

    #2364 3 years ago

    Wow! That didn't last long.

Hey fellas, can you give me an idea of what this might be worth? I’ve had it about 2 months now, brought it home and put it in the garage where it still sits. Everything works, sounds, speech, displays and the rods and players turn proper. It plays a mean “we will we will rock you”. Just not my cup of tea. Thanks for any info.

If I were closer, I’d be on my way right now with cash. Very good deal at $1200. Should sell quick.

    #2371 3 years ago

If anyone is upgrading their older super chexx to the tofhgyn chexxmods scoreboard system, I will buy your old board, cable, and scoreboard. It will help offset your upgrade expense. Thx.

I recently became the owner of my late brother in law’s Super Chexx. USA vs CANADA. The puck is broken, when I contacted and ordered some replacement pucks from ICE and gave them my serial # they told me my table was manufactured in April 2000. I need to grab some lemon pledge next trip to the grocery emporium and give it a quick wipe down. Do the play counters in these coin op machines only register plays based on coins inserted? The counter only shows 9 plays. My grand children have logged more plays than that the last two thanksgiving dinners at my sisters house, and I must have played my brother in law at least 50 times over the years before his passing.
    Thanks
    Larry

There is a Chexx trader group on FB. Do some recon on there before listing for price.

Willing to entertain any offer or pinball trade

    #2375 3 years ago

I got my Super Chexx out on location at the roller hockey rink 2 weeks ago. Completely distracted the youth practice that was going on. EVERYBODY did the rubbernecking watching me wheel it into place.

I clicked on a few credits and had some dads play and everything worked great.

First week was $37, second week was $42. I don’t expect it to keep that pace long term, but it’s doing better than all of the pins I have there (not in total) so it’s looking like a great addition.

I want to do some bracket tournaments or something when the world is a little more normal.

Damn if you were closer I'd grab it from you for sure. I've been wanting to add one for awhile

List it on CL or FB Marketplace for $1500. Post the link here, and I'll share it on the Chexx trader for you. I think you will sell it very quickly, and probably get multiple offers. Then you can take a free and clear stack of cash and put it towards any pin you find, instead of hoping someone who wants it has a pin you want that they will part with. You just have to get it in front of the right people.

    FYI,

When you upload a photo from your phone on Pinside, it almost always ends up sideways. I've yet to find a way to keep it from uploading that way, or rectifying it on my phone. (Tapping on it doesn't bring up a menu as advertised) I'm in the habit of being near a real computer when hitting the post button so that I can immediately edit the post to rotate the photos.

    Nice machine!

I’ve had all of the previous hockey tables you guys know - the CARROM - the SHELTI - the BREAKAWAY- the SLAPSHOT - the WHAT THE HELL EVER !!!! and always customized to best abilities taking cues from the SUPERCHEXX .... then I woke up one day in late July 2020 and said to myself .... after talking to the ICE people after they said they only produce 2500-3000 annually and roughly 30,000 all together I pulled the trigger and NEVER looked back .... it’s a piece of art to me ... Picasso can take a back seat !!!

You dont think much about it when you see one in a arcade mainly because they are always dirty and beat up but when I opened the box and seen my new Super Chexx I nearly fainted at how beautiful it was. It looks like a million bucks sitting there in my gameroom and it is top notch quality.

If Someone wants it alone, they can have it. We have a post on the village for transportation for an upcoming trip to Pennsylvania, and Maryland.
Ill see if I can dig up pics (sorry I cant find any right now).....It plays well, a few sticks or players likely need minor stick adjustments. A few minor cracks and scratches, and wear....needs a decal for the long side narrow, Itcould be restored or just a low cost way to put one in the home.

Yours still holding up well? How much play time does it get now that the honeymoon phase is over?

    Quoted from JayDee:

I haven't played mine a ton because I dont have anyone to play with unless I have friends over and covid has put a damper on that some but I don't have any reason to believe that it wont hold up because it seems to be very high quality.

You would have to ask someone else about if it continues to be fun after the honeymoon phase but so far everytime i have played mine I have always had a good time. I would be surprised if I ever regret purchasing it.

    #2400 3 years ago

I actually have a set of brand new factory cup holders to sell. $25, with CONUS shipping.
