    Quoted from latenite04:

Here's a link to the kixx pdf manual that someone posted on klov a while ago. It has wiring diagrams at the end. If you can't get to the link let me know, I have the pdf downloaded somewhere.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/gbobzirg8l8k4tu/ICE-KIXX%20SOCCER-MANUAL.pdf?dl=0

the link worked i found that manual and downloded it already however it dosent give a pin out for the connector from the interface board to the ribbon cable

    Quoted from PaddyLV:

Just pulled the plug on the NHL Pro Model with the Knights vs. Red Wings (I live in Vegas but was born in Detroit). Should be a nice addition to the game room.

    Good man!

    #1503 5 years ago

I have an older original Chexx for sale in Chicago Craigslist. I was considering trading it out for the new Kixx.

    #1504 5 years ago
    Quoted from PinsOnly:

That's great, except nobody would ever want to be the Oilers.

Thats why I paired them with Calgary, makes choosing the Oilers much easier!

Original Chexx hockey owner with a puck ejection issue. I’ve tried replacing the puck already. What happens is the solenoid does fire but it take about 4-6 fires to get the puck ejected. Should I try and find a replacement solenoid or should I get the amazon replacement that is meant for a super Chexx machine? That is probably my main question right there, will the super Chexx ejector work in an original Chexx machine?

What’s probably happening is the puck isn’t dropping into the middle. I have the same issue and in a post someone added spacers (washers) to raise the ramps so the puck would roll and stay in the middle. If I find it I’ll post it but it is in this thread. I still need to fix mine so I do need to find it :-p

wont novus 2 and a buffing pad take care of that?

    #1514 5 years ago

Mine was supposed to be delivered today but no call yet. Snow storms probably delayed it. Anxiously awaiting the call.

    Quoted from ccbiggsoo7:

I dunno...I need to work on it some more, but its almost like it melted the plastic. I ran some novus 3, 2, and 1 on it, and it didn’t do much. It was a quick pass.

    #1516 5 years ago

Whoah, that stuff is nasty and will melt plastic. Looks like you’re going to need like 1500 grit sandpaper (at the least) and work your way up.

    #1517 5 years ago

I just bought a blue base Chexx and was wondering if anyone has instructions on how to install a free play button? Thanks

"might" flame polish, but PLEASE be careful. But yea, like catboxer says you will probably have to basically treat this like a foggy headlight. Depending on how deep those lines are, you may have to start as low as 300 grit and work your way up.

If you have the original chexx, there is no free play per say. So I installed a quarter button on the coin door from someone off Klov (has a quarter pic) and you wore the button to the coin switch.

Just put a cup of quarters close by

    #1522 5 years ago

Put the game to one credit per coin and run a button or cherry switch to the coin switch. Close the door with the wires in and the free play switch external.

    Good luck.

For those who have owned original Chexx with the Moog boards and a first generation Super Chexx, how would you compare the sound quality?

There was an interesting tidbit on pinrepair about Moog being a synthesizer company and their superior sound quality. Wondering if there’s an big audible difference

Not a great picture, but here is the latest addition to my game room. Super Chexx was out of the Red Wings, so they installed with the standard red and white players. They are sending replacement players once they get more Red Wings in stock. Even when the Wings suck, they are apparently popular. I'm going to add a siren for goals. It's too bad their are not more options for the audio clips. It would be great to get clips from the actual announcers. I do love the shots on goal feature. Kids (boys 9 and 13) absolutely love the game. They wondered why Dad (born in Detroit) wanted the Wings, who are terrible. I started to recount Detroit's amazing history in hockey, but they weren't paying attention.

    Quoted from Rhauf0:

I added a center ice logo, some in-ice logos, and blue goal creases. I think it turned out well. Most importantly, it doesn't impact the game play at all, which was my big fear.

Gotta go with the right just for the fact that the pigeon logo on the left was one of the worse logos in NHL history.

If there were one uniform scheme that the pigeon logo looked good on, then that is it. The pajama uniforms.
... and the Vegas Gold we had to suffer with had to be the worst color too. Looked like sunbleached uniforms

Will a chexx ice surface fit on a Carrom Machine? My ice surface on the Carrom Machine is 32.125” Wide x 43.635” Long

Carrom told me about The new styrene playfield for about the same price as a Chexx playfield. When i play on a Chexx in a hockey rink its way faster then my Carrom’s current Masonite Playfield

In short.... come on Blitz you're better than that!

Love it! What the heck are you doing in California? WTF!!

Is this a little better for the ice surface? Test fitting my decal set and trying to decide if I should go with a penguins theme or restore to original with USA vs. Canada. I’ve got full decal/team sets for either direction. I’m an originality guy tried and true...but the red accents on the pens side decal is looking decent. What do you think?

The game unit is a first generation Super Chexx. My favorite generation! Best game sounds and soundtrack IMO.

I also like the level of corrosion on the bottom fastener. Something tells me this unit has had a bit of a rough history. More treasures surely abound.

Otherwise, loving how things are looking topside. A lot of nice little touches that are lacking from my Super Chexx Pro.

Is the red base metal or plastic on that vintage?

    #1545 5 years ago

The red base is plastic. The game has been sitting in an operators warehouse for the past 8 years or so, according to him. Houston humidity is notorious. It’s cleaning up, slow but sure.

I would have to go original even with being a Pens fan! The original just looks better to me.

    #1547 5 years ago

I would love to have one of these again . looking for a reasonably priced used one around nyc metro

    #1548 5 years ago

I painted my original chexx base black and the top white to make it look like the modern games. Just food for thought in your restore process.
