You mean these?

Damn. No ball guides. That looks brutal.

Never seen or even heard of those before, I would love to try them out. Looks fairly easy to make, you just need the right game for them to work properly I imagine...

It is SUPER fun. Jay, can you share the file for these (I assume they are 3D printed and then just affixed to a shaft?)

I would like to play around with these on a few other games.

pawl? I think they would be connected to a shaft.

yeah, I laughed, but it is a bit much.

This is a very interesting strategy. I really would like to know if it will work or if the moderators will get involved.

Bumping up a thread every 30 minutes with a random comment to someone who has posted. If this gets you your Star Light playfield than you are a genius. I guess I should have waited 28 more minutes to post this with an expectation of a response 30 minutes from now. btw, looking for some Classic Stern spinners for a Star Gazer and Quicksilver.

all conversation here is largely on topic and revolved around the initial post. I see no reason for a moderator to get involved as I am not over bumping an ISO post, merely replying to discussion as it comes up.

I do have 2 classic stern spinners from a spare Magic pf I picked up. I would be happy to toss them in as part of a trade if you come across a Star Light pf or as part of your finders fee if you pass the pf owners info along.

#63 6 years ago

What does your current playfield look like?

pretty nice. Typical but minor wear around some inserts, star rollovers, and scoop/hole on right side.

what are your thoughts?

Thanks. Stern Magic spinners are different but thanks for the offer. I have extra Stern Magic type spinners. The ones for Star Gazer and Quicksilver are the unique yellow ones. I will keep an eye out for a Star Light game/playfield.

I'm not sure how this is different than any of the waspinator threads. his FS threads rack up 100s of posts...

If that's the case, it can be restored. You don't need a NOS playfield...

I say take a ton of pics, strip it and send it to Neo to touch up and clear.

Yeah, I am just looking to do a hot swap. I dont need NOS, just looking for anything that I could have restored and clearcoated. I could then let it cure off and do a hot swap over a week or 2, rather than a cold swap.

it way come to that. Preference is the hot swap.

I agree. I definitely would prefer the hot swap.

we are still talking pinball restoration, correct???

#73 6 years ago

How many Star Light games were produced ?

People tend to look down on those that prefer the "cold ones"

#75 6 years ago
Quoted from terrapinmark:

100.

The last few made had sys9 boardsets.

Last check at the online serial # database, only 10 were registered.

The ones with a longer arm on one side ?
Marco had them for a while , but apear to be out of stock . Maybe they will restock them at some point.
As for the playfield , Hilton ,you should just have the one from the game restored .

you just want to force me to do the cold swap so i learn more... I know how you think

since Neo hates this game, do you want to do the pf restore if I strip it?

My guess is there are somewhere between 20-40 in existence.

That means up to 60 playfields I could find

That's about what I'd assume is left too.

really loving this game! Hopefully I can give it the full restoration treatment someday!

Some games are not great with clearcoat. I think this one will be amazing with it!

#81 6 years ago

.

No. the classic stern spinner with the longer arm is only for one game (Nine Ball). The mechs are the same for Magic vs Star Gazer/Quicksilver. However the graphic is different. Magic has a white background with a blue "S". The quicksilvers are yellow background with a different "s" and little stars in the background as well.

He better get some good practice on yours because I plan on sending him "mine" if I ever get it

No , sorry I do not want to do any playfield restorations . Send it to neo , he may not like the game but he'll still do a good job restoring the playfield for you .

#85 6 years ago

that's true. I restore games I dislike all the time. I've restored at least 20 Shit tales and 25 AFM's over the years.

#87 6 years ago
